Is there any way to bump resolution on PS5?

I understand e:d is a max of 1080p regardless of Sony platform … I’ve been running it on my Xbox at a beautiful 4k … is the PlayStation Pro or PS5 still stuck down at 1080p? I have an elite account on my PlayStation with every ship and billions of credits but, while I do fancy dipping back in to e:d, it looks really bad on my ps5 unless it’s changed in the last year?

I don't have a clue as I don't have a PS5, but I'm quite shocked if the PS5 isn't capable of upscaling individual games and doesn't do it as standard, as the PS4 Pro does!

IF it doesn't, surely the eventual PS5 Pro will! 🤔😯😀🤘🤞 .

(Maybe check the system settings to see if you have to turn on upscaling 😀🤘.)

You use the PS5 Fake upscale by default you can't turn it of it is permanently on...
Even if you use a 1080p OLED TV the image is rendered with upscale to 4K via GPU and then down scaled again via Panasonic HDMI chip to 1080p... But the assets are still only for the OG PS4...

The PS4 Pro mode only improved frame rate or 1080p resolution but pro users already reported that the switch actually does nothing as its been broken for years...
There is no 4K assets on any PS4 version... It was optimised for OG PS4 with a switch to change modes on PS4 Pro and thats all yea get... so as you run in PS4 pro mode PS5 runs in Pro mode

The game crashes are New on PS5 instead of getting a frontier error code the PS5 will actually give up way sooner as its networking chip is completely different than the PS4 versions... so when it detects complete failures over network it won't wait like the PS4 it will crash to menu way sooner... and then you can boot back into game sooner with the PS5...
Its not "enhanced" for PS5 title it native PS4 pro mode on PS5 title using AMDs APU PS4 Pro settings emulation...
It needed emulation modes provided by AMD as the SSD is way to fast and is the new memory is way to fast and this can break PS4 games...

As I understand it the PS4 Pro was considerably less powerful than the XB1X so never got the 4k upgrade at all, just quality settings. As the PS4 pro never got a 4k bump, the PS5 never got one either (as it uses the old Pro version of the game).

Real shame as the Xbox version looks amazing in 4k Quality

Yeh a real missed opportunity to give the PS5 and Xbox Series another look this was but, unfortunately PS5 will be stuck in 1080p forever.
Forever is a long time, and I and I'm sure many others haven't given up hope of a "next gen" version of Elite sooner or later, but indeed for the foreseeable future, the console versions of Elite surely won't get much love - however the surprisingly stealth dropped and barely mentioned return of some unfortunately only Thargoid combat (recycled) CGs back into "legacy" mode is somewhat reassuring for the future of Elite on consoles! 😯😀🤘🤞 .

(Indeed the only way most of us even know that CGs have returned to "legacy" in even a limited fashion is in the likes of the following thread, though there seemingly hasn't been any other official announcement about their return, though I'm hoping for some trade and bounty hunting CGs soon! ,😀🤘🤞 .
