Is there any way to modify the appearance of ships?

I have the Clipper and those blue lights in the cockpit got pretty annoying after some time.

They are too bright. They are too blue. They look like they're meant to chase off drug addicts in subway stations.

Can anyone tell me how to make them green and less bright?

(BTW, I'm fine with blue lines on the exterior of the ship)

you can buy paint jobs for £2 and £3 each from the Frontier store.

Further modding would require a game hack.

Not my area.

I've found that boosting into the back wall of a station makes my ships pretty much unrecognisable

No no, not the hud colours. The colours and the intensity of the blue lamps is what I need to change! The more I play the more they get on my nerves. Even during fights I just realized that I am fixated on the ' bright blue dots.
