Is there any workaround for RES freezing?

It's kind of getting annoying to find a great RES full of wanted FDLs, Anacondas, and Clippers only to freeze ~15 - 30 minutes later for no apparent reason. It always happens if I'm in any RES for an extended period of time.

I have never seen this happen. It would be worth noting if this is an individual issue, or is it more common. Any common way to fix that sort of thing, resetting, logging, ect., would change the instance and not guarantee the same population.

It's common, sometimes it freezes (although there is still audio) forcing you to use the task manager to kill the game off or it will just crash to desktop and you get the FD error report window. It has been reported and they are investigating it.

It's a comon and widely-known issue. There are still forum-users questioning whether it's a game or PC issue since they report not being affected, but it's pretty clear now there's something going on client-wise. I too experience regular crashes in RES sites, only in RES sites, and only after 30-40+ minutes of action. Same process, same issues, every time. It even gives me a small warning before it happens, a stutter or slowdown for a split second. When that happens I know it's time to high-wake because in the next few minutes the client is going to crash if I stay in the RES.

This has happened to me too; several times now.
And it always happens seconds before I bag a big one.
Someone owes me millions! :D

Same. Always when there are large ships like Anaconda's and Fer-de-Lances floating around with big, juicy bounties waiting to be harvested. It's painful ;_;

Yes!
It IS really painful! :D
And in a battle, nothing else exists, so when it all suddenly stops, it feels totaly awful.
You are brutally ripped out of your deep concentration; really, really bad.

Duplicate thread, i guess it gets merged.

However i was 2hours in Haz Rez today with Clippers Condas and other ships. No freeze.

I play in 1080p in ultra settings in horizons client. Xeon CPU, 16 GB, RAM GTX 980, SSD only.

The only thing I can add is that I do notice ED starts to stutter if I make more than 2 trips back to base to turn in bounties and go back out to Rez's. I think it's a caching issue. Because the game loads pretty fast I generally go back to the sign in screen and reload it.

Why others are having issues of actual freezing? Do they have less than 16GB of Ram or less than 8GB of video? What brand/model of video card are they using? ED isn't terribly bad but could probably use a little optimization. My laptop fans run hard when the game is loaded, even if I'm just sitting in a base. A cooling pad keeps the heat manageable but still....

Anyways, I'm not blaming it on user systems per se, but to me it looks like there are contributing factors from both sides since I've never had an actual freeze-up.

its been happening to me since Horizons was released :/

Already reported it, yet no answers from fdev :S

GTX770
i7 3770k
Win10Pro
16GB Ram

It is a known issue which FD are investigating according to the numerous threads in the bug reporting forum. It happens on Mac and on Windows, it usually happens during an actual battle but doesn't have to and there is usually a big old conda around but not necessarily and it happens at Nav beacons too.

That some don't see it may suggest the amount of ram on the card is relevant as if it is something like a memory leak, it might take a lot longer to happen if you have more RAM.

I have 16gb of system ram and 6gb of DDR5 on my 780 and the same happens to me. Always when I start on an Anaconda after about 30 mins in the hiRES.
The screen just freezes, sometimes with the sound in a loop other times not.
I always take it as time for a cuppa while I verify files.

I have been using KBoost from Precision-x while playing and only have this issue when NOT KBoosting prior to my session. This is a work-around until Frontier gets their act together. I use an NVIDIA GTX 970 card. When I run without KBoost, my machine crashes frequently while in combat or while jumping in hyperdrive.
