Is there anything that hasn't been nerfed?

I haven't played in about a year and just picked up the game on PC. I've had a blast starting from scratch again but now that I'm moving up in the universe I've noticed all kinds of nerfs that are just ruining the game and making me not want to play anymore. It's no wonder Elite is pretty much deserted on xbox. I used to have 20+ friends that were always on and there's like maybe 3 or 4 now.

Anyways, I just got to the Jameson crash site to get some mats for Farseer only to find that it's been completely nerfed and only gives out G1 data now.

Are there any other nerfs I should know about before I waste my time flying out to them? Is davs hope and crashed anacondas completely nerfed as well?

Just drop into HGEs when you see them, run missions (with allied factions[1]) and use mat traders. In particular, do assassination missions as you'll get cash and a bunch of up to G4 mats and usually a G5 for vette/ conda kills. Surface scan missions are good for data too.

Relogging at those sites, you might as well just be uppercutting yourself.

[1] being allied is important as it pumps the credit reward, which controls the grade of mats for an alternate reward option, so you want missions paying 1.5-2m credits, so installation scan, powerplant destruction, assassination, massacre and high value cargo deliveries/ source missions from High Tech and Extraction economies are your go-to.

What hasn't been nerfed?...lemme see:

The weapons and modules from engies 1.0 that are unobtainable by anyone today, those are still around
Mining - you can still get LTDs at 1M/T with thousands of demand (within one jump of Borann on a good day)
Trade, Explo and Combat ranks - those are still as easy as ever, Combat is a bit harder but still easier than before so no nerf there
Anaconda - still got that bugged hull mass made out of magic fairy dust
FDL - still rocking the powerplant upgrade that no one said it needed (poor, poor vulture)
Healing beams - still repairing more damage than 5 beams together can damage

I'll hold judgement on Jameson until I get more confirmation than one forum post.

I meant mat collecting. But mining has definitely been nerfed, and I can't agree with you on any of those things except the heal beams. It would completely ruin the game if all those things were nerfed.
And combat rank needing a nerf? I have 1500 hours on xbox and still only have deadly combat rank because I do nothing but pvp.
Seriously, nerfing all these things would just drive away the remaining playerbase.

But mining has definitely been nerfed

In what way? Mining was improved and updated with a whole new system and is considered one of the best ways to make money if you Core Mine, what exactly about it is nerfed? you can still mine the old way of course, but you need to use a few of the new systems to do it, and it's also about your location.
Just last week my friend made about 100 mill with about 1 - 2 hours of mining.

They completely nerfed void opals and mining with big ships. As soon as you pull into a station in a T9 with a hill full of LTD's the price plummets. What do you mean it hasn't been nerfed? Everyone and their mother has been talking about VO's being nerfed. Sure, you can still make quite a bit mining LTD's but mining still got a huge nerf.

Scanning the beacons at Jameson crash site doesn't actually give any G1 data. It gives
  • Adaptive Encryptors Capture (G5)
  • Atypical Encryption Archives (G4)
  • Modified Consumer Firmware (G2)
  • Cracked Industrial Firmware (G3)

Check not only LTD prices, but also the Demand.
To get a decent price, you need to sell at stations that have demand that is 10x bigger than what you have in cargo hold.
So if your T9 is carrying 512t of LTD, you need to find a station with good price AND more than 5200 demand.

I replied to the OP title? No? Did you mean to ask something else? ;)

It could also just be a simple case of not going to the right places, and Void Opals were simply a Gold Rush that was intentionally limited, Void Opals can still fetch a very high 500 - 800k price per tonne at the right station, and some station they're completely worthless, sure it's not the best commodity to sell, but it's a dried up market for them, it's how things tend to go when there's an overwhelming saturation of a product or resource.

The station my friend sold all his Core Metals at were offering around 659k for a single Void Opal, the materials he was selling were valued between 930k to 980k, the game doesn't at all dynamically alter the prices of commodities the more you have, otherwise there would be alot more posts regarding discrepancies. and I can tell you right now, both my friend and I use a T9 and Anaconda respectively.

It got a small nerf. It only got a huge nerf to people who are incapable of adapting to changes in circumstances.

The effect on the daily average trade profits of the big trade squadrons looks like about a 30% reduction - moderately noticeable, but less than variation between seasons from other causes.

As far as the bulk tax goes, then don't go gem mining in a T-9? Take a Krait Phantom or similar, pick up the gems faster and get a better price per tonne. Use the T-9 for the considerably buffed bulk trade hauling (peak profit/tonne from about 6k in 3.5 to about 15k in 3.6, if you know the right combinations of goods and states)

Frontier says it does...
  • When selling minerals at a station, the price that is offered is based on the amount currently in your Cargo Hold..
    • While this has always been the case, we've passed the feedback on to the team for consideration for a future improvement of the feature.
...it's just only massively noticeable with the core gems because the effect is far less subtle on a trade good with a six/seven-figure price than on one with a three/four-figure price.
