Is there anyway to enable VR after purchasing through Epic Games?

In the support articles it states that even after linking your account, when purchasing Elite Dangerous through Epic Games it will not appear as purchased under your frontier account and will need to be launched through the epic games launcher. Does this mean I will never be able to produce a steam key in order to play on steam VR ?????

on the ED launcher you need to click the ellipse (3 dots ...) then select launch VR

OMFG the epic launcher is a total pile of :poop:
ive not used mine for over a month and now wont launch without running a repair.. and yet it prevents windows rebooting because its running as an invisible process

Thanks so much man :) Yeah I realised I got it for free in the free game of the week thing when I was looking at buying the game. Saved me a buck but yeah pretty trash, can’t even maximise the VR window on your monitor
