Is there "modding support" for Planet Coaster that could also happen for Planet Zoo?

Curious about this, because I saw people talking about it, but I wasn't sure if I misread or if it's entirely true. Is there modding that goes on in Planet Coaster? And if this happens for Planet Zoo as well, how do you see that working?

I don’t believe there is. There’s a toolmaker kit but no mod support. I know a lot of the modders doing this game and jwe from the zt2 community. They are very trustworthy and enjoy making mods to improve the game and creating for players but frontier doesn’t support mods last I knew. Which is there right of course.

There is the theme makers toolkit which essentially makes it easier to import custom scenery. I don't know a lot about it as it's so far beyond my skill or interest but it is modding for scenery only not to change game mechanics. Although the campaign editor also allowed a lot of customisation of game mechanics for maps anyway so parks in the workshop could have custom settings for things like how likely guests were to vandalise or how grumpy staff would be

You only have a theme maker toolkit where people can import their own objects. But they are just objects, no functionality can be added to these objects besides movement.

I don't expect modding support, as Frontier is very keen on their own in house engine and they won't share details or knowledge of their engine, which is sort of needed for modding.

And that's fair enough, it's their product.

The theme maker toolkit does allow people to make custom scenery pieces, but not rides.
I'm just assuming we will see some kind of version of this either near the end of PZ being supported or when the devs are done making scenery and want to focus more heavily on animals. I don't think we will get anything official for making animals though.

I had hoped that mod support would someday come. But it's unlikely -- not from Frontier, anyway. My mod wish list would have included tools for the automatic placement of continuous Topiary Hedges along long stretches of curved paths. Also a tool for the even separation of benches, bins, and lamp placement, etc. I can spend hours upon hours lining up Topiary Hedges along curved paths so they look continuous. This is why I often resort to straight paths -- but those are boring.
