Anybody successfully completed a tip-off mission, or anything else that relies on using surface coordinates (is there anything else?), recently?
I accumulated 3 tip-offs over the last couple of weeks, while mining, and I thought I'd spend a bit of time completing them last night.
Out of the three, there was nothing at the coordinates of any of them.
One of them, in particular, was a "some people have left their data-points unguarded" tip-off, which usually means it involves visiting a surface outpost.
As I was gliding down to the surface I noticed that I passed a surface outpost but, when I reached the correct surface coordinates, the outpost was about 5° (a couple of hundred km across the surface) away.
At the given coordinates, there was nothing.
The other 2 were more straightforward "go find the crashed ship" tip-offs.
One planet had valleys in the area so it's possible I might have missed it but the other one was just a barren plain and there was nothing at all nearby.
In both cases, the SRV's wave scanner wasn't detecting anything either.
On a related note, I went to visit Miterrand Hollow a few weeks ago (to collect something for a regular mission) and that has surface POIs (crashed ships and Geo sites) which can be located with the DSS.
Scanned the planet with the DSS (to identify all the surface POIs), selected the mission target, glided down to the surface and found that the POI was about 0.5km away from where the crash-site (in that case, a wrecked SRV and a bunch of cannisters) was located.
There were a couple of other surface POIs within a couple of hundred km and, since I was flying my Viper, I thought it'd be fun to visit them too.
Same thing with those; the marked POI's were up to 1km away from the physical item.
Just seems like surface coordinates aren't terribly reliable at the moment.... for me, at least.
