Is there someting wrong with auto landing?

Hi pilots:

After the launch of Engineers I'm experiencing a lot of trouble with auto-landing function of my ship. I'm right now at Beagle Point, waiting for Jaques will I collect Jumponium mats (some day I will have to go back to the Bubble and maybe it oculd be useful :D), and every time I land a planet, I dismiss my ship, begin my exploration routine, farming mats, and when I call back my ship ...it's F#C·ING CRAZY! :O My Conda goes dow to the surface of the planet and 100% time it tries to dig a big hole (loosing almost1 ring of shields), makes an almost drunk turn and tries again to dig the ice/sand of the surface. It seems some thing happened to the box collision detection routine of the ships, and now it's impossible for my ship to perfome a normal landing. And it happens on very even surface, not at a mountain or crater.

Right now, the only valid solution for me it's to exit the program, run "Elite Dangerous" (no Horizon) and then ask for an "orbital" appeareance of my SVR aboard my ship...50% experience breaker + 50% frustrating. Any one else it's experiencing the same kind of weird behaviour?

I did a few landings today and noticed how carefully the ship was coming down, pausing while the landing gear deployed compared to previous versions of the game. This was on a low gravity planet though and my Anaconda has 7A thrusters

I haven't noticed any problems with my Conda but, as Darth Krayt says the landing behaviour has changed. Whereas previously the AI didn't seem to care about reality, it now looks right, much more as a decent & cautious human pilot would do.

Mistery SOLVED!

Hi:

I solved the mistery about the strange landing behaviour of my ship under AI control, almost destroying the ship in final approach.

It has to do with energy balance: the power configuration of my ship it's very tight. Before the update to Engineers it wasn't a problem, because the SRV Hangar could work without energy power. Now, at 2.1, we have to connect the Hangar and provide it with energy. In my tight energy configuration, that means there is not enough power for FSD and thrusters...and that is a huge problem in two situations: when I dismiss the ship (not able to take off, or barely takes off), or when I recall the ship. It seems the ship has not enough power for use the thrusters during the final approach and that is causing the rough landings, with the ship almost fliping on one of its sides, consuming shield protection.

It cannot be qualified as a bug, but it would be nice to have some type of advice before it happens, because it's easy for a pilot to forget about the ship energy status, after being 2-3 hours looting materials, then close the session, and when you return next day, end your exploration and call your ship (orbiting around the planet), then you will be awarded with a scary landing try

The solution it's very simple: disconnect enough modules not usually needed on the planet surface after the manual landing (sensors, fuel scoop, detailed surface scanner, etc.) and make sure your ship has an optimal power balance before leaving it alone. :D
