Is there still a way to drop materials on foot?

As title... I remember (but not how) dropping surplus materials when on foot; for other commanders to pick up....but now I can't find the 'how-to' button/system/whatever

Open the wheel and select backpack.
Select Assets/Goods/Data.
Select item and amount to drop.
Confirm.

'cos I don't have any need for those any more. Checks notes...I only have 50 MI on my carrier, dunno how much I have on my person (I'd have to log in to find out and it's not arx Thursday) but I might need those if we ever get atmo worlds so....

Me I am keeping hold of, and not dropping any building and vehicle schematics. After all, once upon a time. cocktail and culinary recipes were only worth dropping. But now .....

Building and vehicle schematics seem about 3x more common than suit schematics or weapon schematics in those power center and CMD center lockers. We all know weapon schematics can be found in bunches at the "hidden cache" sites, but suit schematics are what we're probably hoping for when we cut those lockers open.

I drop stuff all the time when I get back to my ship and learn I have too much stuff or when I am at 60 mats and see a couple carbon fiber plates or titanium or graphene, I'll drop circuits in bunches. I haven't noticed them fall though but I didn't really look.

Thanks guy's for your insights... but....BUT .... I use the 'wheel'...?? Insight Hub??? go to backpack and there is the list of all my mats but no function to drop the items as you can highlight a material but then what? Am I being dim? o7

Thanks Cmdr's. In desperation I did a 'repair' game files and all is once again restored... as per all your lovely input above.

As far as I know I didn't/don't have any other game faults (other than the one's we all know about) ... so why a single user interface should go walk-about is beyond me! (I was REALLY beginning to think Fdev had nerfed the drop-off function)
