Is there still no way to abandon alternate missions?

I just came back to the game after playing during the initial launch, and I still have two old missions that I can't clear from my contracts list. These are the ones where you show up to kill a target and then receive a counter offer to fulfill a different objective.

I never recall choosing to reject the original jobs, but I still have these two alternate missions with rewards waiting for me in distant systems. Is there still no way to just abandon them so I can clear my contracts list?

In theory you can just complete the original job (I've done that many times, so I know it works, though occasionally the original job resets the target count back to 0 which is annoying), though that probably doesn't help you because the old job will have long since expired?

I assume these missions are now completed waiting to pick up the reward (ie, when the original mission ran out of time)? You may have to self destruct to clear them.

Yeah there are two little icons next to the systems where I can turn in these quests for rewards. Will self destructing really clear them? I don't have anything to deliver.
