Is this a bug? All of sudden friendly with the Empire

I landed at an Empire station after building up about 250K with of bounty to collect. Cashed it in and logged off.
Logged back on later today and everything on my radar is green. I see I am now friendly with the empire and all the local factions.
I haven't done any missions but is bounty hunting really that affective. I've just over 1 Million in bounties and I'd say have were with the Empire.

It seems those bounties were probably issued by those factions... killing their enemies does curry favour.

Any additional trading done?

I was able to make minor factions friendly with one/two good trading runs (200t+ in one go). Cashing bounties should work the same. I am wondering however, why the whole Empire became friendly so fast (usually takes quite some time).

Same here. I think I'm at about 300k bounties that some empire faction paid me.

I got friendly now. Heh.

No, I haven't traded for a long time. I do remember reading somewhere relations can decay over time from bounty hunting. Anyone able to confirm/deny that.

After plundering them with over 500KCr at once they suddenly call me ally!

Are the three main factions fighting each other? As far as I can tell they're only gobbling up independents.

how you change the factions opinion of you. because everything i do doesn't seem to make a difference. all i have done is missions for them. i have a blue arrow pointing up next to the empire factions names but there opinion of me seems to stay the same.
