Is this a thing? #heatsink

So, I'm out in my lovely, lovely vulture, which I have a single heatsink clip fitted to because the beam laser does heat up after a while. But every time I'm out and about as soon as I engage the heat sinks start launching without my inputting the command (I know this for sure because after the first time I assigned the input to a button well away from my usual controls). Is this... a feature? a bug? All I know is it's wasting my heat sinks.

like above id suggest checking your firegroups but might i also suggest that you get some efficient beams , ive never had a heat issue in my vulture from 2 G5 Efficient Beams. Also keep 4 pips into weapons as the more you drain the capacitor the quicker you will heat you ship.

... Well now I feel dumb.

Also, I am aware of the heat impact of having 4 pips to weapons. But especially with the enemies sitting in front of my guns so much, I often go through entire battles without ever taking my finger off the trigger. So I end up draining it anyway. Thanks for all the advice.

You can also bind your heat sink to a different control in 'options' etc. No need to assign it to a fire button.

Good luck CMIV

Even G3 efficients can make a huge difference, and are much easier to access. My Python was constantly overheating to the point of damage from firing my 2 large beams, but good rolls on G3 efficient mods from The Dweller have solved that problem almost completely.
