Is this cheating or not?

To all who can help me.
I'have a lot of unsold exploration data from my last trip out. I read of this comunity goal on exploration and since i'm near Lembava (only 1500ly or so) i thought to go there, partecipate at the CG and sell my data. Is this considered cheating or not? do I have to start the voyage AFTER pledging to the CG or can I legibly use the data from my previous efforts?
I really do not want to get banned or lose the revenues from the long trip i've been in in the last weeks.

I doubt anyone would call that cheating, just good timing :) I do seem to remember it only applies to data collected after signing up but I could be totally wrong.

No it's data sold after signing up so this is a great move. Enjoy your rewards :)

It's fine (I answered your question elsewhere too). I even suspect that most people already contributing to that CG would welcome it since your data will help push the goal towards tier 9 which means bigger rewards for everyone.

Hey man, if you have a cargo freighter filled up with some hundred tons of some metal, and suddenly a CG starts where they need metals to build some strange starport - would you consider this cheating, if you travel there and sell the metal?
If you're on holidays on Isla Margarita, buy some bottles of a brown softdrink used for making Cuba Libre, and suddenly everybody is on strike, and no one sells this softdrink anymore - do you think the others consider you're a cheater? My personal experience says: No, they don't - they treat you as a king! ;)

I'm not sure it's going to get to Tier 9, even with 2 weeks to go. The rate of increase isn't very high.

And no, not cheating at all. Just make sure you sign up to the CG on the bulletin board BEFORE you start selling data to UC.

Not cheating, in fact I would applaud you doing it, we need to show frontier were dedicated to exploration. Thank you for doing the CG with us.

Yes it is!!! No, not really. Just wanted to shake things up! ;-) No it's absolutely fine, you have done the work, you deserve to be rewarded. Just don't overtake me .....

The more the merrier!

I would like it if they had *some* CGs where you couldn't "stack up" exploration data / bounties / combat bonds and just wait for the right CG to come along. I like the competitive element of CGs too, so it'd be nice if at least some of them started as a level playing field.
