Engineers is this hard enough now?

So already after flying round for 2 days and not finding the basic level of crafting components for 1 modification i drop into a threat level 2 uss and get jumped by 3 pirates and louse my A rated vulture. I know some people want a challenge i under stand, the spinning ships that would roll over and die was a bit much. on the other hand i don't like fights that despite my best efforts almost strip my shields and force me to sit for 2 minutes. i don't derive joy from that i don't revel in that challenge its just frustrating.

choices are a big ship that cant move and dies as a result or a small ship that cant take a hit and dies as a result....

The AI basically forces you to either fly a combat fit ship or run away.
Bounty hunters show up on planets in uninhabited systems.
Pirate wings magically spawn in asteroid belts in the middle of nowhere.
Power Play is broken and undermining without the help of a wing is nearly impossible due to system security.
Anyone that wants to simply mine or explore is in for a world of hurt. The only things left to do are trade and bounty hunt.

Every single ship that has come after me since 2.1 has been an Elite/Deadly Anaconda and/or FDL. Ignoring the implausibility of a FDL for pirating, let alone one that follows you instantly across multiple 20+ Ly jumps which would drain the fuel tank if nothing else, it's impossible to fight these ships off effectively in a trading ship. You cannot even avoid them because they spawn directly behind you in interdiction range every time and I dare you to break the interdiction tether in a Cutter or T-9 legitimately (without the game spazzing out and instantly awarding you the victory). This leads to very boring gameplay where your only option is to get interdicted, submit, boost, jump, and repeat until you get in range of the station. Hell half the quests now sic a never-ending supply of Elite hitmen onto you that spawn every single time you enter supercruise, instantly enter your instance regardless of how far away you are when you drop, and will even suicidally follow you into the station in an attempt to kill you.

FD please make the AI quit cheating in SC. It's not fun or interesting gameplay, it's just annoying. And maybe consider actually giving your pirates pirate fits, not full combat loads, thanks.

Pirate wings don't magically spawn, they drop into your wake, which is exactly how the game is supposed to work.

Don't see what the fuss is all about, makes the game far more interesting and dangerous that way.

They should not drop into your wake if they are not in SC in the first place.

Yes, they do.
I dropped into an empty asteroid belt and right before i started mining a wing of pirates dropped in. They scanned me, saw that i only had limpets and left. i mined for an hour and logged out.
Next day I logged in again. I never went to supercruise so I had no wake. Once again 2 pirates spawned in the asteroid belt and this time they attacked me.

Power play NPCs now regularly spawn outside the no fire zone of stations, if you are in hostile territory, and attack you. It is pretty much the NPC equivalent of spawn camping.
Because I am aligned with hudson and make my home in LYR territory, I now regularly have to deal with this non-sense when leaving my home station.

A few days ago I was doing USSs in my Asp, degraded emissions and encoded emissions for mats, and I encountered a threat level 3 degraded emissions for the first time. So thinking that threat level doesn't always mean the ships are hostile (i.e. convoys) I dropped in. There was one AI relic but no ships. I was just about to check what it was when a wing of an Anaconda and two couriers dropped right in front of me and started to attack. I didn't stand a chance with the Anaconda mass locking me and the two agile courier ripping my shields to shreds. That was the first time I died sine 2.1 launched. It was an instant death situation in 8 secs with no possibility of escape.

And then take your shields down, knock out your FSD and Thrusters and blow you up. With their new magic missiles even though you've boosted so hard you've dropped them off the radar.

Post patch and it's still happening.

This is just how the game gets round the impossible fact that when you log out you can't magically disappear. Also, you're not sat there defenseless for a day. Imagine it's like you never left, so your wake is still there

Since I am primarily a bounty hunter I guess I can see your point. I fly three types of ships, Asp for exploring or long distance rares trading. Python for trading, and an FAS for bounty hunting. When 2.1 arrived I lost the Asp after I wrongly assumed killing three elite Eagles wouldn't be a problem. So I spent a few days experimenting with new weapon loadouts, and did the grind to get some engineer upgrades.

I got pounced in a 0 threat USS while looking for materials. Two Eagles and a vulture against my FAS. All enemy ships were deadly. I left that party with 4% hull but did manage to kill all three ships. That to me seems about right to be honest. Prior to 2.1 I wouldn't have even broken a sweat.

I do wish however, that enemy ships would follow the same rules regarding heat and SCB deployment as the player. If I could spam shield recharge cells with no heat penalty and fire a plasma cannon non stop I would be invincible (evil laugh.)

As a pirate with a proud bounty i get annoyed by hunter NPCs way too often,
high-wake, low-wake, loose them in rings or sun coronas does not help.
You need to kill em or kill their thrusters...
Annoying along with the clearly engineered upgrades just interrupting everything you do
frequently.

I have nothing against hunters being dispatched on me, especially when in policed systems,
or having them tail me through uninhabited space, yet the frequency and lack of possibilities to loose them
is very annoying.

Yeah I do get tired of this, which is why I have chosen to only play games where NPC's have to actually be sitting at their computer like me. None of this "spawning" mumbo jumbo.

Well i returned to the bubble yesterday. I did see messages from devs making balance better ... Yesterday a patch ...

Yesterday i did some t7 trading ... And got blown out the sky several times dispite submitting and trying to flee.

A few shots and my shields are history. Sooooo is that patch working at all ?

Before 2.1 it was way to easy .... But this lvl of destruction is way to hard. I know they wanted the game to be more realistic .... But ending up with 9 out of 10 space shuttle launches resulting is destruction is not very realistic also ....

Don't see how you can be getting destroyed like this... the principles of running away have not changed.

If I wanted to deal with NPCs I would not have went to a uninhabited system with an empty asteroid belt. There should be empty places in the galaxy where you can go without being harassed by NPCs

You mean, the only thing left to do is trading.

Bounty hunting does not come close to the profit made from trading.

Trading makes me want to get interdicted by pirates to relieve the boredom. Has 2.1 improved trade profit at least?

I'm not having any issues in my a rated Python. I get interdicted a lot , because I'm carrying components for engineers.

You get great engineering materials from a lot of those ships that interdict you, especially the higher ranked ones. Get some collection limpets, and send them after the ones you want/need. For me, it's making it easier to get the stuff i need for mods, plus most of them have nice bounties as well. I've only had to boogey away from one interdiction, and that was an elite conda, and I know I've been interdicted at least 50+ times in the last day.

I actually get annoyed, when it's just an easy or below average ship interdicting me, because they don't drop the good materials like the higher ranked ships. I'm nothing special either, I'm just expert ranked. Maybe this python is just that cool. :)

Learn to fly with a finger on restart button ! I forgot about it exactly in same situation, an Anaconda in wing with a Python mass locked me and fast killed my Python... so now I remember that magic button, saved my ass today from an expert Anaconda ( was in Cutter and tried to fight) but inflicted me with huge thermal effect, starting to loose a lot of internals...and guess what ? after rebooting the computer and logging in, my ship was 100% functional with 100% shields !!??? of course is not the solution I want in this game, but from where so much thermal effects ?? I think the bugs are still on and this can be a temporary solution [knocked out] of course, the "gifted and talented players" will not agree with me, but they should not do this :p

seems to be a bit of a mix for me tried a threat level 1 yesterday and had the first combat I have survived in months so was feeling quite good tried a threat level 2 just now and was wiped out before I could fire a shot lol Well now I know to avoid those ones. some things I love tho like the voices really makes the place feel more alive. One day I may even have the chemical bits for a upgrade lol but not holding my breath got the mats and scans :) still enjoying the changes
