hmmm... $50k for the flat version, so a hemispherical version would cost the equivalent of a small house.
yeah, think i'll stick with VR.

well I suppose if they made it ceiling mounted, and you had the right hemisphere room size, well it could be done, but seems.....very impractical.

The projector would have to be engineered for a curved screen and I doubt that it built in by default.

I would have thought projecting on to a circular interior of a hemispherical screen would be easier than projecting from a point source on to a flat wall.
If you look at the link and the image titled "Simply place it next to a wall"

then the distance from the projector to the middle of the lower edge of displayed screen is many times shorter than the distance to the upper corners.
