It's been a whole week of testing combat and let's face it, FD has done an extraordinarily adept job of providing a solid experience thus far!

They are obviously quite prepared and I imagine most of if not all Phases of Alpha (PoA) have been readied and set aside for at least a little while. Perhaps they are hurriedly building and reiterating each PoA up until its release, but I have to imagine it's already "ready" for the most part.

I am also guessing (key word here) that as FD releases PoA 1.0 or 0.1.494.0 or whatever it's called internally. We play it, data is collected, and then the next PoA is released. Whilst we are engaged with the next PoA they manipulate the data from any previous PoA for future builds.

So, does FD have enough data from the first PoA? Are they tinkering away like so many elves in a workshop with the next phase or is today the day?

It's been a whole week. The launcher is already starting to look a bit shabby don't you agree? Perhaps an update would set it up quite nicely.

This is all in fun. I am all for FD taking there time, but I can't wait... :)

Personally, I hope so. It would be good for some new game content to play. Done the missions in the Alpha so many times now. Also it would be good to keep the bandwagon rolling in terms of exposure to the world at large. Next phase of alpha videos on youtubes.

I hope 'multiplayer not ready, bad netcode' virus haven't reached FD's offices and we might see multiplayer scenarios.

I can confirm that today is indeed the day, tomorrow will be a completely different day even compared to yesterday.

Ehem, on topic...

I agree with you Alpha Protocol, it would be very strange if FD set us one test module, we tested it and fedback, FD resubmitted it ...etc. until it was right, before seeing the next module.

Even with the FD Mantra of "It's ready when it's ready", I would expect a series of modules, which would keep us occupied while FD addressed issues on earlier modules. This would be a cycle of work, so that we're always busy testing new/updated material and FD are always busy with different aspects of the game. One new one a week would feel about right to me, eventually we'll also have resubmitted older material to test as well.

It's how they worked on the DDF with them working on one proposal whilst feeding us another that was then worked on and they gave us the original proposal. Trouble with Alpha One... not a Whole lot to report (and I have an issue under investigation).

I have a feeling there won't be anymore updates this side of the new year. Many of the staff are probably already out of the office now and those still at work on something of a wind down. I expect they are just chuffed with themselves for getting the combat alpha out before Christmas to be honest.

FD - prove me wrong. I would be delighted. :)

I agree, that would be very nice indeed!
In addition, I would really like to see them leave the current module in place as well, but I doubt that will happen as I'm sure they'd want the community focused on the next test.
