I'm thinking of joining the Imperial Merchant Navy, and was wondering if Torval, like Mahon, offers bonuses for pledged players relating to trading?

Torval offers the same bonuses as Mahon for rank 2 and 5. However, this also includes the bonuses tied to galactic standing, and unlike Mahon, Torval is seldom around 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. On the flip side, Torval has legal Imperial slave trading, if you really feel like that's something you want to do. Like Mahon, she also has an increase in profits for mined and rare goods in her systems.

All true, but I would be surprised to find higher value trade routes in Mahon space than in Torval space which aren't dependent on famine or outbreak. iSlaves bring in the big bucks.

Don't do either. Buy slaves from Torval and sell them at Delaine black markets. Most profit of all.
