Forget the top left and bottom image. They are concept art and you'll never see graphics like that in an open-world procedurely generated game, well not for years anyway, and not with ED's current engine.
This is true though, and valid.It also doesn't look like the in game screenshots that have been shown very recently either.
We had transparency effects in Horizons, but Frontier removed it in Odyssey. As you can see, the ice is lit differently than would regular rocks.Forget the top left and bottom image. I don't see why we can't have proper transparency effects though like the top right video screen.
