General Gameplay Island Size, Build Limitations and Scale and other Ideas

Your Feature Request / Idea
IMHO, here’s a list of New Ideas and Changes that I see could make this game a whole lot better. ;p

BUILDING
– ISLAND SIZE
Problem
I find the constraints placed on the player by limiting the available buildable land mass rather similar to what Sim City did. And we ALL know how much that title flopped.

Another thing I find curious is the scale of the Islands (which are MASSIVE in the movies) compared with the buildings, which just seem too big. This was obviously done to limit the player’s choice of which buildings to implement vs available buildable area. Meh!

Possible Solution
Instead of using Sim City's stupid formula, why didn't you just make the WHOLE island available?
This way the Park's success rate would balance on the decision of where you build it.
By having punitive points based on how short/long a ride is or how far from shops the attractions are, the available building area then becomes a disadvantage based on distance and geo placement (swamp/forest/pasture/lakes etc.

By doing this, scenery and land management become more prevalent to the way the game is played. Dinosaurs would need to be placed in the BEST Environmental areas best suited to their species, making the placement of fencing that more important.

BUILDING
– NEW ITEMS
– DOUBLE FENCING
I would also like to see the availability of Double Fencing early on in the game. Since the original gap between Dinosaurs and Humans was about 65 Million Years, it’s not too much to ask for a little more Security – is there? Of course, ‘Double Fencing’ would HAVE to be more expensive – with the inner fence being electrified and the outer being a High Steel Barrier.
– ELECTRIC FENCE SUBSTATION
On the topic of electric fences, why don’t the fences connect directly to the grid using a different type of fence (like the Gate) which would allow the fence to pull power from any nearby Power Pylon, and require only ONE connection.
i.e. Power Pylon ---> Fence SubStation ---> Electric Fence

GAMEPLAY
– ALERTS
When you get an alert, why can’t it be double-clicked to take you straight to the area? Why is it necessary to ‘scroll’ about until you find the problem? Since the Rangers, Park employees or the Visitors have called it in, would you not be aware (exempt Storms) of the location?

– ZOOM FUNCTION
Also, why is there a limited Zoom Out function, and why was fogging implemented?
I feel that games are catering for players who need to upgrade their computers, instead of producing the best that can be done with what hardware is currently available. People – UPGRADE!

I hope that all makes sense? If it does, great.
I would also like to see the availability of Sea and Air critters. Obviously, this would mean more building types and open new gaming (and marketing) opportunities as well. Play Well.
