Issue Tracker completely useless

Frontier's Issue Tracker is completely useless, a waste of time. The only purpose seems to be to soothe annoyed customers and then ignore them.

I posted a problem on 30 Nov. Other users made 11 contributions, verified it and still no reaction by FDev:
https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/21194

"My internet sucks, but I'm going to blame FDev for the issue and then have a tanty when they don't respond to my internet issue." is how this reads to me after checking the issue tracker..

I've seen those too, fair point.

But, on the other hand, then there are the "I reported this obvious bug that's been reported by 200 other CMDRs months ago and all I got was a Facebook Like Contest to determine if anything ever gets done about it" ones.

Still, I'm sure it's working wonderfully well and that, any day now, you'll once again be able to loot cargo from Megaships. It's only been, what?, a year now with not a comment from FD? Just like the -25% on smuggled goods due to them being treated as "stolen" and the PWA bug will be fixed any moment now.

What you mention are all legit bugs that need fixing, no arguments from me on that, but the issue on the Tracker in the OP? It's a latency issue and not something to bark at FDev for.

Must agree. There is nothing in the issue report that even gives FD anything to look at... You're describing general network issues...

Fair enough. My opinion is based on my general opinion of the Issue Tracker, which is not favorable, to put it mildly. It's a cop-out to avoid having to legitimately acknowledge issues. "Look, our algorithm says you've passed the magic "like" threshold, so that means we've acknowledged it and are working on it. Or not."

In this specific instance, it may very well be PEBKAC. (Although I have to admit that the number of posts telling users to "dust off their routers" tend to spike every time there's an "update" or "patch" which, at least to my analyst mind, seems a bit... peculiar. Funny how people across the word all of a sudden encounter simultaneous hardware issues whenever a patch is kicked out the door where they were working fine the day before. Must be an ISP conspiracy!)

But that may very well not be the case here, so please treat the above as an aside and a comment on the "Issue Tracker Completely Useless" headline, which I tend to agree with.

My interest in the new system was gone when the term, 'vote for the bug' was adapted......maybe it stems from my belief that there's some gullible folk living in the UK, that they are happy to watch these 'reality shows' on TV, or :poop:TV as I call it, only to vote on the crap they've just watched.

So no, this system doesn't appeal to me one bit.

(my humble opinion of course)

Don't waste your time. I carried on a personal crusade to fix the DBS's cockpit for about a year and all it got me was a moderator reply about how they're "looking into it." I had screenshots of before and after and multiple reports and all I got was a canned response amidst a bunch of other canned responses to other issues on the front page that day.

Old school bug reporting was much better......I would contribute & did.

Current one, I don't even log onto it anymore(n)

Same here. Bugs don't really bother me the way they do some, but I used to help out where I could. Not a great process (requiring multiple verifications), and seemingly filled with near duplicates that dilute that requirement almost to the point of uselessness.
