Issue with screen center moving/resetting in the rift

I've noticed a issue with my screen center moving off as I look around with my rift.

I'll set it look around and when I come back to center it's slightly off to the left or right and I'll have to f12 to recenter it.

Any solutions?

You are not the only one, and keep that reset button handy. ;)

For some reason(s) the rift tracking in ED tends to jump around occasionally; I've even had it happen when looking straight ahead - in my case, most of the tracking failure are on the vertical pane.

Mind you, it may be related to frame rates, as I find that most tracking jump come in when the display has a short (usually less than a second) juddering pause in rendering. The tracking, on the other hand, seem to be more stable under direct mode, but I cannot get to 75hz in that mode unless I disable the main monitor (60hz max) which I am unwilling to do.

(AMD drivers here under Win 8.1 - all up to date). BTW, AMD crossfire is still very much a work in progress and amplify the issues above).

Good to know I'm not the only one.

where is your camera placed? How far away and straight foward or angled?

Straight ahead, slightly higher than the mask (perhaps 5-10cm) and about 1.5M away. In the OR config screen, the center LOV (red) shows a direct view to the mask (point versus a line).

I've come out of a hyperjump and my head is sticking out of my stomach in the view. I probably recenter my head 10 or 20 times a night as I play. Usually just small adjustments as I fidget in my chair, not some glaring goof up on the oculus' part, but it does sometimes go wonkey for no reason. I have recenter bound to one of my joystick buttons. It's a non-issue.

I've had weird issues with tracking as well, like no tracking whatsoever. Nauseatingly frustrating while in a dogfight I can tell you. Not cool at all. I barely won with 2% hull left.

Are you providing AC power to the camera?
Try using USB2 ports for DK2 instead of USB3, I've read that might fix tracking issues.

Would love to. But the first port I plugged my oculus into was a USB3 (didn't really look)... and now I can't run it from any other port. Even a full uninstall and re-install, the USB driver will only work on that original port. There is certainly a way to wipe it better...just haven't had time. I am looking into buying a powered USB hub today as I heard it improves things.

It won't (tried it, got the medal).

That's weird, I can switch between usb2 and usb3 without issues. There might be something wrong with clashing interrupts. Remove as much usb devices as possible and see if that helps if you didn't try that already. You can also try to remove the usb drivers and reinstall them. Please don't blame me if that totally disables your Rift!

Are you plugging the rift and camera in USB 3? If you do then plug it to USB 2. For whatever reason, USB 3 and Rift are not happy. Also try to have them plugged in to a powered usb 2 hub. When I did that, it has been stable. Now I need to reset maybe once or max twice in 5 hours play session. Also this solved the issue of camera lagging. I don't get any now.

good Luck.
