Issue with steam?

Hi everyone, I just tried updating planet zoo in steam to 1.8.2. But every time I get an error saying that it failed and I don't have an internet connection. I do have internet obviously. Now I can't start the game because steam keeps giving me this error. How do I fix this? Should I reinstall steam? Also I noticed some of my subscribed items from the workshop don't show up in my game. Not sure what to do about that either. There are no mods, so it should work
