Issues with searching?

Ever since 1.3 launched I seem to have problems with searching. In 1.2 I could search any system name and have an almost instant result. Since 1.3 I search for systems that I know exists and it just sits there as if I typed a non-existing system name.

In frustration after trying to search an awesome Herbig Ae/Be I found in the Eagle Nebula (to compare it with another awesome Herbig Ae/Be that I am currently sitting in), I scrolled the galaxy map to the Eagle Nebula to try and find it manually - which I couldn't do. Then I tried to seach for another system which was actually displayed on the screen in the galaxy map...and the search still failed, the system was right there, inches from my cursor, but I couldn't search for it...

This is also annoying, because I rely on searching when I plot my routes. Typically I plot a 1K Ly route, then write down the jumps in order in a notebook, then as I jump through the systems, I update my notes system by system. Sometimes if I log-out and log back in, the new auto-route planning produces a different route, so I search systems by hand to try and follow the original route I noted down until the auto-route plots the original route again. If search doesn't work for some reason it makes this incredibly difficult.

I also like to search back old systems (as per the original Herbig) to remember how they look and compare with other systems.

Is anyone else having major search issues, or is this possibly local to me?

Okay...this confirms something I saw last night. Not just my poor typing or typos, then.

I noticed that the way to "force" the search term to be recognised was to position the cursor after the last text character and click...then press the >

I see you put in a bug report, was having this issue myself

As per this thread I could not find a system that was 20 light years from my location in human space.
