Issues with the Adventure Building Set

MPSOUBs.jpg

First attempt at making a mesopotamian-ziggurat style exit building (1stAid, restrooms, maybe a gift shop, food'n'drink outside) using the Adventure building set. Issues so far:

  • Misaligned/not-quite-tiling edges on Temple Rounded Arch and Temple Wall 4m.

  • Temple Rounded Arch Tunnel is a different design from Temple Rounded Arch, they don't match when placed end-to-end. They're both good designs and I'd be happy to have 'em both for both, but not one and the other.

  • There's no flat roof / floor piece (used the castle's this time, copy/pasting the colors from the Temple's default hex-colors, came out significantly darker).

  • The only Slope Corners are the Temple Block Slope Corner 4m4m4m and the Temple Gold Block Slope Corner 4m4m4m -- there should be one for every Temple Block Slope (gold & stone). Used a 1m wide Slope piece at a 45 degree angle for the corners with limited success.

  • The f-snap for the Temple Block Slopes is on the wrong face for applying to a wall. I f-centered on ajacent floor pieces and used Advanced Move to slide up to the walls.

Some of these (Misaligned/not-quite-tiling edges) may warrent a bug report, others (missing pieces) may be better as suggestions -- not sure what to do with this. [weird]

roof

I really love the new DLC, but i agree it missing some things.

For the jungle there are no new roof pieces in it, something like a thatched roof. I like to make a jungle style house but it to much egypt style. Maybay they can add this.

I appreciate that the new pieces are off-grid, but if you try to snap them on a wall and duplicate them for easy tiling...

it seems like you're meant to place each piece one by one using the 3d gizmo which is more work for less than perfect results

Also............
the gold versions of the temple blocks are somehow modeled differently than regular temple blocks
(that alignment [weird])

Your example uses the Temple Block Slope 4m 4m 4m which can, kind of, be f-snapped to a wall. Mine uses the Temple Block Slope 4m 4m 1m, which is set up wrong to f-snap against a wall (unless you want a very squat pyramid), and which doesn't appear to have a corresponding corner piece (nor do the 4m 4m 2m slopes).

Hey, if you've not done so already, or if someone else hasn't made a bug report on this, feel free to post a bug report here: https://forums.planetcoaster.com/forumdisplay.php/37-Bug-Reports - thanks! :)
On which ones? Should I really make a bug report saying the set doesn't have a flat roof / floor piece? I've opened one on the misaligned/not-quite-tiling issue, and added to catty's report on the slopes.

Not really related to the buildingset, but I didn't want to start a new thread for it. I absolutely love the animatronics but I wish there were a few non static versions as well. The swinging traps and the rolling balls should have a static version so we could make it look like there are some broken traps for example.

I've also noticed that the non-grid wall pieces have a color flicker at 3PM in the day. I know that's a random time, but it's usually the time I play it on. I changed it to 1PM and it's not as bad.

Cant you just tick activate on trigger and then it wont move? and just dont assign a trigger point

I think you can tell it to go on a trigger, and then not attach a trigger -- it'll run once but then stop.

Problem is it will stop in it's starting positiion. Now for the swinging blade it will mean it is stuck in an upright position out of sight in the block it's attached to.
The same goes for other triggerable objects.

Maybe it would be nice if we can pause the animation at a certain point?

+1 on the missing building blocks (corners).

The other/extra snappoints would be handy for sure, but a quick workaround is to align 1 piece to a wall (or grid piece) with the gizmo tool and select both pieces, so you can endless place them on the grid...

For the floor pieces i use the stucco or the smooth concrete (recolered) fit's nicely once you match the colors.

The arches does seem odd, i don't think that was intended to be the way it is... i'd love to see both "missing" pieces added to the game...

But overall it's an amazing DLC, endless possibilities....

Yeah, that's a good point. [redface]

its been asked for time delay on the actions so we can say hold the on position for x amount of time hope its in the next update or sooner

There are two huts in the pirate theme you can use to make your own. Not quite what you wanted, I know, but maybe a workaround since I don't believe the adventure pack will get a content update.
