General It feels like this suggestions forum is a waste of time... and should be rolled up into a better issues logger

There is no visibility here of the top X suggestions, no visibility of what is acknowledged by devs, no hints at whether anything here is ever going to be on a [cough cough] roadmap. It feels like we are p!ssing into the wind. Sure the devs and community managers say they see this stuff but if there is never any hint of hope... Why not just make "Suggestion" an option for the type of issue in the issue tracker instead.

• Exploration variant FC, smaller, only medium pads, 1/3 of the size, cost and upkeep.
• On foot geology science/mining gameplay (you now have nice rocks why neglect them?), why can I target and shoot picous cobble or select containers on the ground and see what they contain in an SRV but not on foot? Why not have the dyson scanner able to scan vents for extremophiles etc., why not have a arc cutter mode able to drill into rocks for simple mining?
• Future plans for on foot variations of scenarios? e.g. different types of CZ battle modes, Irregular Markers, crashed ships, etc.

Oh yeah. The forum structure isnt that enforced. It looks like people sorta pick their home sub-forum and stay there forever. I was in the newcomer forum the other day checking things out and someone was like "Ohhh hey whatcha all doing" and someone was doing something with their FC. Some newcomer eh? So yeah they grew up there in that small town and never left.

• They post bugs, and nobody tells them to use the issue tracker.
• They post suggestions, and nobody tells them to use the suggestion forum.
• They post technical issues and nobody points them to the support.
• They post that they need to be able to know what issues the devs are working on, but that info is right there on issue tracker but ain't nobody pointing that out.
• many improvements and fixes

Deep down inside I believe that the old and wise keeper of the suggestions of Frontier reads ONLY the suggestion forum and takes his big ol' tome of player suggestions to the dev meetings, every week, precisely on time, because he respects the structure and rule of law like a proper feller.

Never stop believing GraphicEqualizer. We can't lose hope in these dark times.

I don't see how this suggestion would help stop other suggesters from posting the same suggestions over and over and over again on the forums.

If anything there should be five to ten pined threads covering the forums golden oldie/classic forum suggestions. That would enable the suggesters to be directed to them as a repository of all information on that particular suggestion.

I will not make a list of suggestions to suggest as I would suggest that the OP appears to not be a fan of suggestions.

Well I mean that IS the nub of the problem, that an unmoderated unmanaged forum is not really an effective place for people to add their suggestions especially without a top X list of pinned suggestions, and the problem is exacerbated if the top X suggestions never get any developer/product manager acknowledgement or yay or nay for feasibility, or told categorically they are never likely to be worked on.

The livestream that just category said ship interiors is NOT being worked on was good. That should be the FIRST pinned suggestion thread. It's not happening. Get over it. That's what we need for all the other stuff on people's wishlist. It'd cut out the absolute noise of people shouting I want this I want that. Either give them hope or shoot them down. Otherwise we are all just yelling the same stuff every day into the void that is this forum.

It might help if they put someone with credentials in charge, who could take suggestions,
and actually get answers about them, then post a FINAL STATUS about it.

The whole forum is like a "frustration room" or "rage room" - F D pays scant heed to what goes on in here and seems to look upon it as a place for players to vent.

But imagine if they did chat more... the community would hang on to every single word they say and it'd probably just lead to more frustration and rage. My only big sad is that this part of the forum doesn't get that much activity, and therefore discussion. Except the endless Cobra MKIV requests
