It has been 12 hours ...

So, at about 6pm BST last night my game updated on Steam - about 1.7GB in 15 minutes (just to give you an idea of speeds). I then opened the launcher and it set about doing it's thing to download Odyssey.

It has been 12 hours and it is still doing its thing. And it's telling me I have 8 hours to go. I noticed it was slow last night, so I stopped the install and changed the cache settings, but it was still slow. (It did remember how far it got in the install, so me messing about with settings wasted all of 10 minutes).

Am I missing something? How in 2021 when it takes me 15 minutes to download 1.7GB from Steam is it taking this long to update? I have left my PC on all night and it's still nowhere near.

Any help appreciated.

Because the patch should be around 6.7GB and not 1.7GB? Unless you pre-ordered and already had Odd installed. Might want to do a file verification. Also might try ditching the VPN if you use one. VPN's are used to throttle your connection, at least the ones I have tried do. Most of the time they limit me to about 250-300Mbps when my ISP connection is 500Mbps.

I am also on steam and odyssey was downloaded through steam. My speeds where about 15-20mb/s when should be about 60mb/s. I changed my download server (in steam settings) from UK manchester to Netherlands, restarted steam and boom was hitting 45-50mb/s. Maybe try that?

Thanks for the replies, but I think you misunderstood. My game both did a 1.7GB downlaod through steam and then proceeded to download through the launcher - which took over 18 hours in total ... and now that it has finally finished, I can't connect to the server.

what Frontier?!
