Astronomy / Space "It is significant for us to know if we are alone in the dark."

Well I would appreciate any links you can provide.
I have a great interest in this subject and have never heard any scientist suggest that we understand this process.

It's been a long time since I was in education, but I'm sure one of our younger members could point you to a site dealing with A level Chemistry. (Or whatever they call it now).

There have been some large cash prizes on offer for the answer. Perhaps even a Nobel Prize awaits..
.
If the answer is really in your A level chemistry text books then you should scribble it out and send it off ;)

This is getting silly.

Im actually also interested in where youve read an explanation about how life came around
Afaik, we understand alot about how life works and evolves, but not how it was initially created. Experiments trying to do it have failed.

On topic, while i dont care much for this kind of alien hunting, i appreciate that it will likely result in alot of good technology and discoveries usable in other fields.
Its private money funding and while i may feel however about it, ive no right to complain if others think otherwise.

Better spent there then in military and corporate hands.

Sadly, experience suggests that military applications are almost inevitable.

It's been siggested that the basic weapons, hammer, throwing stone, knife and so on, all began as tools for hunting. It seems everything eventually find a military application.

The current crop of attempts, by various nations to explore space seem suspiciously unjustifiable unless we take into account a possible military application.
