It looks like nVidia have noticed ED :p!

Hi guys,
I just noticed something pretty cool. I've been using nVidia Shadowplay to record a fair few ED videos, and up until now they've been put in an Unknown folder in My Videos. I couldn't see my latest one, then discovered it in a separate Elite Dangerous folder. News is spreading slowly but surely :)

Nice spot... I've yet to use Shadowplay but have heard good things about it - will have a go this weekend on it and try :)

Actually, I think that everything is much simpler. There was GeForce Experience update recently to 2.0 and I guess that ShadowPlay was updated as well. And now it uses the path to the game in the name of the folder with videos.

Looks like NVIDIA has the better tool here. The poor excuse of AMD's Raptor does not have a way to add the game to it's listing yet... and only offers streaming to twitch (no local recording).

Its excellent. I tried it for the first time a few days ago - made a video (linked in my sig - shameless plug) using it.

I haven't noticed any effect in framerate drops either, unlike fraps and other video capture software.

How to record from the second monitor / OR?

Hey guys, maybe you can help me here. When I run Shadow Play it only records from my main monitor and I have ED running on my second one and on oculus rift. How do I get it to record from there?

Thanks

DB

Weird, been giving me a separate folder since at least mid-March - using the game folder name inside my Shadowplay recording folder.

So we have been upgraded to "Mostly Harmless" now?

Recognition today. The world... nay... the galaxy tomorrow! :D

For anyone not sure what ShadowPlay is

"Shadow every game.
Share every victory.
ShadowPlay records the up to the last 20 minutes of your gameplay. Just pulled off an amazing stunt? Hit a hotkey and the game video will be saved to disk. Or, use the manual mode to capture video for as long as you like.

You now have a video record of your gaming awesomeness to share or post anywhere.

ShadowPlay even lets you instantly broadcast your gameplay in an HD-quality stream through Twitch.tv."
