It would be cool to be able to name your ship! (also other auto pilot voices/voice clips!)

I sooo want to name my ship and have the name printed out on the hull plating or on my holo-display! I want The Nadir to get the smuggling recognition it deserves, not just the pilot recognition! Also I want my ship to have intense personality, give us in game holo-color modification, the option to choose multiple auto-pilot voices, and the ability to collect bits and baubles for our dash boards. Some more voice clips would be cool like the auto pilot announcing 50% hull damage and 90% hull damage as in game combat reminders. I'd also like the option to have it make sarcastic remarks when I crash into station walls :).

P.S. just an immersion thing, it would be cool if you could open your comm channel when approaching stations and get little ads popping up in the lower left corner/some radio announcer talking about the dangers of "Lucan onion head" :)

There was some sort of ship naming proposal in the DDF back in the day - might be worth a trawl through the DDF archives.

As far as I know naming your ship will be implemented at a certain point.
Your other ideas I like too. But I have no idea if anything like that is planned.

HUD has to stay free, since we've been xml-editing that since an adventurous pilot discovered that.

For audio packages though, they should charge like skins. A selection of workaday voices in two genders, and a few robotic-type voices for extra flavour. One-off payment of talent for the job, no gameplay changes for non-buyers; and most importantly for continuing revenue, the chance for FD to charge out the thrusters for someone even semi-famous to do some VA work and sell even more "units" on that. Pretty sure most of us geeks would pay for someone from our geek past to tell us our ship is on fire. Imagine if they could score Jonathan Frakes or Marina Sirtis for example.

Just an addition it would be cool if you could also change your flight suit color/style (I need the trenchcoat to match what I sell). Looking for antique digital watches...?
