It would be great if...

...they would place the nav point a little further away from the white hot stars of death.

...every time I visited a hi-res, it wouldn't have a flight of 3 clippers.

...missions would use the term "acquire" or "obtain" if they wanted me to go find something first, then deliver it.

I'm sure there are more...

Nice one dude! Actually, I can't say the first 2 bother me too much. But the last one - man, that is so annoying isn't it? How can we tell the difference between the missions that give you the goods to deliver and the ones that require you to go find the goods first? Answer - you can't! So there! Now go have fun! Grrr!

I suspect the person writing the missions is actually a coder. The issue, of course, is a coder is not a very good writer, generally speaking, as a writer is also a useless coder...

1) That just makes it fun if your running a cold ship, it also makes it a ton harder for those dastardly folk that go silent running. :D Although a mixture of closer and further away would be good.

2) Again, Clippers for me are one of the most satisfying ships to kill. Big targets, slow to turn and stand out nicely with a white ship and an interesting thruster colour. Although I'm always for more variations in Res site wings..

Can't comment on missions, don't know enough..

Overall No but also yes... :D

Yeah, this...

I wish they'd let me loose for a week just on the scripting and wording... a lot of it's atrocious and ambiguous. Oh and don't get me stared on the NPC chatter... "wow the motherload"... oh yeah, when I've got 2 tons of biowaste? "With that load it's a wonder you got this far"... oh really? I've done a whole one jump, how far did you expect me to get with all this scrap and algae? "Too much damage. I wasn't expecting this." Really? You're in an eagle and you interdicted a python and you weren't expecting to die? *sigh*

"Don't get stared on NPC chatter"???

DOH!

The info for some of those missions can be far too cryptic, It would be nice if there was a [MORE] tab you could click on giving you the full mission requirements.

I had a mission a few days ago -- deliver 9 tonnes of wine -- that not only required me to get the goods myself (game's fault) but also turned out to be a multi-parter (my fault for not checking the icon).

So I flew to the target destination and tried to unload the wine only to realise I had none. This despite two attempted interdictions from NPCs who wanted the "lovely goods in my hold" or words to that effect. So I pulled up the map, found somewhere selling alcohol, flew there, collected 9 tonnes of wine, flew back and delivered it. What's next? We want 9 tonnes of beer shipping somewhere else. Sigh. Back to the alcohol system, buy 9 tonnes of beer, fly to the new destination system, deliver beer. Now what? We have a third destination for you. They want 9 tonnes of wine.

I nearly cried.

I don't mind a degree of crypticness - can be suggestive without actually saying "this is illegal and is going to get you shot!". Or "the hero of .." is most likely NOT going to be a wanted target. I don't have a problem with that and in fact think it is quite appropriate. There should be some reading between the lines needed. But the delivery of goods ones can, and should, be explicit about the source of the goods.

... the enlisted men *cough*slaves*cough* would get the Vette's canopy clean.

... any nav beacon could be compromised.

... I could fly better *sniff*

... my Friendship Drive was charging right now.

... I could give you some rep!

Yes, add some more realistic blurbs. I bet someone could think of about 500 random blurbs like that over a weekend. Expand the repertoire a bit. :)

It wouldn't be hard, would it? What we have now looks a lot like some dev came home from a long night at the pub and then realised "Oh hell, I have to have those NPC chats ready by tomorrow morning!".

Well, that's why they have proofreaders and game testers. Oh, that;s right. We're the game testers now.

It would be great if ...

... "Slow Down" appeared while you still had time to slow down.

... you could put 2 size one modules in a size 2 Internal Compartment.

... the Autopilot worked when you leave a station as well as when you arrive.

Small annoyances a long way down the list of priorities...

... Modules were grouped by type, so you didn't have to scroll down through (seemingly) hundreds of Auto Maintenance Units and Frame Shift Drive Interdictors to get to the Fuel Scoops or Hull Reinforcement Packages.

... there was an option so that the Loadouts screen didn't show equipment types that aren't available at the station.

... there was an option so that the Loadouts screen didn't show modules that can't be fitted to your ship because it's too big/heavy to take them.

... there was an option so that the Commodities screen didn't show goods that the station doesn't have in stock or that you don't have in your hold.
