It would be nice if NPCs had to follow the same rules as us, no?

I get why they made the change to shields persisting through supercruise, it was a bit of an exploit.

Im the first to admit im not the best at dog fighting but it frustrating to whittle your target down to 3% hull (especially after an hour looking for them) only to have them jump away, and when you catch up to them again, not only do they have 100% shields but 100% hull too.

Obviously I didnt 'catch up to' anything, he just despawned after he jumped and respawned when I found him again. I get that. But it would be nice if there was some persistence there.

Fairness aside its just immersion breaking
 
Oh, that stinks, that should be fixed.

But in overall thought, no, NPCs should get advantages that make up for their inabilities. For example, although we can't cargo scan in supercruise, pirates should interdict people with valuable cargo more often, they should be able to tell the rating of your modules, etc.
