hi!

Lots of existing players at the moment at the italian speaking community who prefer not to play in English bought into the game under the expectation that the game at launch would have had the promised localizations, including Italian:

Localization has started; we will be initially releasing the following languages:
German, French, Russian, Polish, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, Mexican Spanish, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian and Simplified Chinese.

All stated at Newsletter 34 in Agust 2014: http://us2.campaign-archive1.com/?u=dcbf6b86b4b0c7d1c21b73b1e&id=8b7e3f3ba9

6 months after release and 10 months after announced we still dont have the Italian localizations.

It would be great if FDEV could at least announce a tentative timeline for this.

WellI guess is not a priority so.... and Italian Community is not so big..... I believe they will have to learn English, it is way better than the translated one you loose a lot of the lore....imho..

I understand that there are a lot of priorities.

But they have announced localization during kickstarter campaign. At least FDEV to give us a provisional date.

Like many, many games... Kickstarter promises do not often mean all that much.

If the Italians feel that strongly about it then they could always gang together and translate it. Aside from that, English (or your 2nd preferred language) will have to do - at least for now.

There are ppl who have backed the kickstarter campaign counting on that or bought after the campaign and have been promised, your sentence make no sense.
There are ppl thinking different from you, if you want to play in english is your choice otherwise you can play in your native language.
I know that it will cost but the thing make part of the kickstarter campaign so has been put in count.

There is currently a trial taking place for community localisation efforts with the Spanish community. Once this has completed the results will be assessed and other language communities may be contacted for further localisations.

Until that time please be patient as these things take a great deal of time.

Closing this thread as there was an official statement made regarding localisations 3 weeks ago in the the dev update.

Hi everyone,

Looking beyond Powerplay and for localisation we are keen to expand the game into many new languages and want to do so in such a way that the translation is of good quality and fits that of the game and its fiction. So we will shortly be trialling working with the community to create game translations with the addition of Spanish language support. If that trial is successful then we’ll be looking at using the method to include more languages in the future. You can see the announcement for the trial here:
