Items In Backpack Keep Transferring to Ship/SRV

Hi.

I am currently trying to hand in a mission that required me to find some weapon schematics and then deliver them to Galileo in Sol.

I went to the specified location, found the schematics and returned to Galileo.

When I try to hand in the mission (marked complete) I get an error Failed to Communicate with Server. Failed to perform mission transaction.

I looked in my backpack and noticed that the schematic was marked as being in storage. So I went back t my ship and sure enough there was the schematic in the ship's storage.

So I transferred it into my backpack and left the ship.

Then I noticed that the schematics again were in storage.

It seems that whenever I enter my ship/SRV my backpack items automatically go into the vehicle's storage. Even when I put the item back into my backpack and leave the ship, the exiting of the ship causes the items in my backpack to return to the ship's storage.

Is there any way to stop this auto-storaging?

Thank you.

It may not be you - errors have been reported today triggered by various events:

When you enter your ship or SRV stuff in the backpack is auto storaged and there is no way to stop that.

All the stuff in your ship is always available to sell to bartenders, give to engineers or the Pioneer rep.

Saves a lot of hassle this way as your backpack has a limited capacity and could not carry all the stuff needed for upgrades or mods.

I too have had problems handing in items to complete missions, but the issue has mostly resolved itself. I have done the log out etc and tried several times over a couple of hours.

It really is a bug. Best to do is find the appropriate ticket on the issue tracker and bump it with details of how it happened to you.

Mission related items bugs have been around for quite a few updates, but usually what will happen is just them staying on your inventory after being turned over (resulting in you stocking items in your storage with the "Mission" marker on them), but now it's also preventing completion sometimes. We also used to be able to "clean" the mission tag by transferring the item back and forth from the ship storage to the carrier storage, but that doesn't work anymore (and there seems to be a bug with that transfer right now, so best not to touch it).

U17 is right around the corner and will probably get rid that issue.
