Engineers Its a gather and roll weekend

Well I did a weekend of Empire Rank (to Baron), then a weekend of unlocking Engineers doing Lei Chung's 50 trade markets and Broo Tarquin's Tea (plus combat rank since I just ported to PC from Xbox). Now this weekend I get to reap the benefits and get those tasty G5 Shields and G3 Boosters, also going after special effects on my weapons. Hoarding together enough to do my Courier first and then my Anaconda with what is left. I actually kind of like engineers personally now that I know the optimal ways to find most mats.

Here are my current ships, and for the Courier I have a "potential" or target build I hope to have stitched together by the weekend.

Similar here. On my way to Palin for those G5 DDs. Already full of mats & data. My DBX will be first. I'm contemplating the Courier's C3A or Enhanced drives. Enhanced are already rather heaty. G5DD would add to that.

For a while now I've been working on rerolling all my Cutter's modules, since my standard for "good" rolls has gone up in the roughly nine months since I built her. This weekend I'm doing weapons. If I get lucky with the rolls and have time to do something else afterwards, I'll move on to the FSD or PD.

I find her rolls relatively easy to get top end results from. Don't mind her compared to many of the others.

Nice roll, I'm still trying to get through mining the damn ore, god I hate mining. 50 tons would've been one thing, but 500 makes me want to punch to a kitten.

I know the Courier gets toasty already with CDTs, but if when rolling the DDT you prioritize least Optimal Mass reduction (as close as possible to 2% on G3DDT) then the Thermal Load increases stays near minimum also (near 20%) and they are subtantially faster, but it is a rarer roll than what you would get by going with CDTs

Yeah, it's the mining that I don't care for. But I'm doing it to unlock her. Only 3 panite transferred to a storage account so far.

Nice pristine metallic where my ship was stored. Mainly getting useless stuff like gold and palladium though. That, and my mining Asp only has 64t cargo capacity. It'll take several trips of mind numbing mining to get the invite. Every ton counts.

On the plus side, I picked up a bit more arsenic. It's not all bad.

Someone showed me a barnacle site with Arsenic that solved me trying to throw apples through a refinery, but I do miss the cider.... (search "Place to find arsenic" in the search box)

Remember nothing says you actually need to sell the stuff, you can just toss it out into space and keep on chewing rock if you don't care about profits. I set up a mining Orca just for the occasion. It is actually 10/10 more fun to fly than an Asp and if I could find a multi-role ship with the Orca's flight model that can land on a medium pad I would be in heaven.....

Of course, now that I complained about panite, I found plenty. Still need to hit the 500 mark, but this'll be easier with your idea. Thanks.

Uggg, forgot you mentioned before you were engineering with another commander and had to unlock.

I have a nice class 6 fsd with a 55.0% roll in storage, which was a bi product of rolling fsd's for my annie and corvette. Every now and then i look at it and think i should do something with it. This normally is followed by the thought, 'i should create a mining ship as its the only thing i don't have'.

Then i remember how much i 'enjoy' mining. Its still in storage.

What system was that? I need to hunker down and just do it, it'd be nice to get the painite in the process. I got Lei Fung sorted for the shields/boosters last weekend, and Broo for the pulse lasers, I really could use the peace of mind the armor resists would bring in my limited hull Courier [yesnod]

HIP 29596. Planet 2 has pristine metallic. I found the panite in the middle of the inner rings right between the concentrated metallic rings. The are several RES in the area. I aimed for the blank area equidistant from the two that were on the less active side of the planet.
