It's a mess in there...

Just got back from a slow jaunt around the neighbourhood, checking out the FSS etc and ended up in Maia and it's swarming with non human USS's* but what are they doing, why - and what do the threat numbers actually mean?
I can't do any of the new scenario's in the game as you need more limpet controllers than any medium ship can carry, esp if you've gotten some of the Guardian upgrades that also require module slots and also want any inventory space.
And why o why can't we pin more than one engineer upgrade at a time, Ram Tah alone has 10 (ish) things that can be upgraded - what's the point of allowing us to do remote upgrades then limit it to one thing?
When FS scanning planets maybe don't have the number of geo / bio's in the initial scans, a DSS will tell us that, we only need to know if there is something on the surface worth investigating, like sometimes that circle thing will be spinning for 20 seconds.
One final thing, the bloom seems off in this upgrade, like certain stations look completely washed out from the light of the local star, hard to say whether a bug or not but it looks awful.

It would be nice to get some non specific road map for 2019, like is this the game until the next big paid DLC drops winter '19? - 'cause there's a few issues that kind'a feels like they need sorting soonish...

*Is the Thargoid thing over? Crap invasion tactics when they're swarming all over Maia / Merope but the humans are at war with each other and not one mission (or passenger run) deals with the alien threat at all - oh, and maybe one scan to populate all the USS's; it gets tedious when they're popping in and out of existence constantly.

They have been concentrated around Pleiades (not just Maia) for over a year now, it is where the whole Thargoid story kicked off. You'll also find them around bulk freighters out there.

Scan the nav beacon to see all signal sources. Would be nice if they would auto resolve within a certain range.

The tl;dr is : "I've been away and have not got used to 3.3 yet - when in 4.0 out?"

Anyway - you'll get used to it, pretty cool once you come to terms :)

Thargoids are far from over...lots of combat to be had in the bubble if you're looking for a challenge. The changes are far and take some time to get used to, but overall I find the game to be much improved to it's previous state (others may disagree, I find the Thargoid CZ content to be a welcome addition)

It is getting kind of nuts out in the Pleiades now, though.

I was there the other day and the NHSSs were whizzing past me like white-lines on a motorway.
The number of NHSSs has definitely been increasing.

I know FDev is notoriously, erm, "relaxed" about progressing the narrative but you'd think, with that amount of traffic, that something should be happening.

Did the Thargoid surface bases actually serve any purpose?
It's just that, with the benefit of hindsight, it seems like a more plausible escalation might've been from goid interdictions to what we have now and then the appearance of surface bases - with the inference being that the goids are busy constructing those bases for... something.

As it is, we've got all this escalation but no indication that it's actually going anywhere.
Not sure if this is just the "2nd act" or whether it's just going to be a "constant" from now on - the Pleiades is "goid space" and they conduct incursions into the bubble from there.
I hope it's the former.

I'm expecting it to be only the "second act" for now, with the goid bases functioning to show us (players) there's more to them than just flying saucers and damaged megaships. If it gives us an indicator that they have (potential) bases or larger pieces of civilization in the Col 70 Sector, then it could eventually be getting to the point where we can take the offensive to them again. If and when player-group-controlled megaships drop, maybe we'll see Goid capital-class vessels (read: motherships). But that's just the rantings of a hopeless AX Pilot. They're actions have definitely been ramping up
