I 100% get that people want to know what's coming. But do bear in mind that it's not just a case of giving a sitrep at every point. Development Studios these days have to have an insane amount of preparation to make sure that announcements give all the right information, don't get people's hopes up about things, and importantly are well supported with a whole lot of background stuff.
In order to stop things just landing with a wet splat a lot of companies want to put some fanfare out there, and give a stream of content which just wouldn't be possible to hit hard like they want it if things came out in dribs and drabs with "oh we're working on this bit, we hope to add that bit" over time.
