It's been almost a month since the last update. Communication please?

So, the last update we had was 1.1.1 on the 19th of December and since then it's been nothing but silence. When and what is coming next?
Obviously there was a holiday, but it's been a while since that's over, too. Would be great to get some sort of an update from community managers.

There's a lot to fix and we have no idea about when new content is planned to be released. Saying "We will update you when we have more information" is kinda wack, you obviously do have information about future updates. Maybe not the exact dates, but there most certainly is a schedule as to when bug fixes generally happen or when the next DLC is planned to be released.

If Call of Duty can give a set schedule about when a certain type of update is planned, you should, too. :)

I'm not here asking for 3 months worth of "XYZ DLC will be released".

Communication is key, community managers.

EDIT: Since people online do the usual and take things either out of context or to the extremes, I just wanna say a few things:
In no way am I demanding anything.
In no way am I saying they should rush out DLCs, bug fixes or other updates (Some of you are saying you better wait longer than get broken updates implying that I'm asking for everything to be rushed.).

Sorry for asking for a little update as far as what's planned a month after their last update. lmao

We are hardly more than a week into the new year, this feels unreasonably impatient to me to say the least.

Agreed, this is a bit unreasonable.. Tbh, I rather have them take a couple of weeks to update something properly than be stuck with a buggy update.
Especially considering the critique on their previous updates, which caused new problems with a lot of players. The 1.1 update was pretty good.

I am more than happy with the updates and communication, I would rather wait for updates and DLC to be tested and ready for release rather than release them unfinished to hit pre-determined dates (fallout 76). I am guessing here but in the run-up to a release date for a game I would expect everyone is working extended hours to get as much finished as possible, to then expect them to work over Xmas and NY is very unfair.

The next update will be released when it's ready I assume, which is great.

Did you have a hard and busy week? I sure had and feel like I have already worked for months this year. We haven't though and so hasn't Frontier. They took a well deserved holiday break. And demanding a schedule for updates and DLCs is pretty rude in my opinion and sets unnecessary pressure. Maybe some bugs take more time to be addressed than they are planning. They already showed last year to normally react incredibly fast to feedback (with some few exceptions), so I really don't know what a passive-aggressive comparison with completly different games is useful for. If we haven't heard anything by the end of February we can politely ask how process is going, in my opinion. But now? Nah.

Updates are not usually announced until they it's ready to be rolled out to everyone. They are always working to improve the game. They'll let us know when an update goes out.

Perhaps they could install some webcams in the office and provide a 24/7 livestream. That way OP could keep an eye on things to ensure there's no slacking and that everybody is working sufficiently hard to provide free updates to the game they bought. I can see it now:

'The guy in the Yoda t-shirt at desk 37 has already had a five minute coffee break this morning and now he's been chatting to the girl next to him for two minutes and thirty seven seconds. Fire him immediately please.'

😁

I don't think you guys are getting what OP is saying
What I THINK the OP is saying, is that after the last update the communication across the board has gone dark.
Not just them rolling out updates and fixes, I don't think that's what they're really getting at. More like before the holiday season the devs actually commented on posts. Simple things like "We're looking into it" or "Try this instead" on problems.
Immediately after the holiday they commented on like maybe 5 posts, but since then there's been nothing.
Now obviously the devs haven't given up the game, that would be ridiculous to think. What I THINK and BELIEVE that the OP is saying is something along the lines of what i'm saying. It'd be nice to have a few words here and there, that they're still working on things, instead of posts flying through the weeks with no official response.

Fair point, we do understand him but I deleted a line (was a bit too harsh) before i posted it my reaction. A bit distracted but should've read it before posting.

Tbh, in most games the update notes are released along with the update or just after the update.
Majority of devs/games don't post their current 'fix in progress' on their forum.

Even if they said 'We are working on this' and it's not included in the next update, people will get upset about it.
Or when their issue isn't on the list, you'll have several topics just dedicated to that.

The edit of OP's post doesn't make it any better.
Personally I think it's a matter of patience.

I understand him both pre and post-edit. I just think a week (since the return to work after the holidays) is a bit short for separation anxiety to kick in. That's opinions for you.

I think we got a bit spoiled with weekly updates.. They were just to fix the most important urgent issues.
Now that those issues are solved, you can expect bigger gaps between updates.

There are still a fair few "big" things that need fixing, and they aren't all necessarily game-breaking bugs. I can see why OP wants to know if anything is in the works (we don't need specifics, just "a new update is being worked on", which is what they did pre-December).

That said, I can certainly admit that the rush of content and communication we got post-release has likely spoiled us a bit.

I'd like to get some heads up on the current inspector bug - it completely prevents you from completing certain scenario rewards. I know its been voted on, but this seems like a biggie to me.

Sorry but i totally disagree, specially with your last sentence.
There are still quite some issue with the game, guest leaving after 1 hour, feeders not all being filled and so killing animals from starvation, big enclosures are also not manageable because of the whole feeding issue, random boxing of animals, the desire of guest for food and drinks is not realistic and so on.....

The rush of content that frontier gave out was because if they did an update parts of the game became unplayable and so they did not have an other options than quickly release an new update that "fixed of just disabled"the previous update.

All i can say for myself that i am still waiting for some big updates but i am not waiting too long anymore.....
If some issue are not fixed at all (i think they will not change anything on the feeding issue) i am afraid that i will stop play the game very soon....

They asked for files conserning zoos with feeding issues. Did you send them your yet? If not, I would do so if I were you. They already got to a lot of saves that had that "bug" and still all parks they got up until now are just a result of false management.

In all honesty, I have a large lion enclosure and some other enclosures with alot of species. It's not rare that I forget to put enough enrichment feeders or feeders in and my staff still feeds all my animals perfectly fine. If I get an alert that an animal is hungrymy staff ist either overworked and I need to higher more, or there is simply too much of a distance between keeper hut and habitat.

Why do people need to be told this? Isn't that fairly obvious they're still working on these things (given the Steam DB activity)? This discussion keeps coming up over and over and still impatience takes over on here. Yes they're working on new content, yes they're working on fixes. As Heather says, when both are ready for release (they may not even be sure when this is the case) then rest assured we'll know about it. Until then just stop getting overly concerned when it's coming.

Because when i buy a game that presents itself as finished i want that game to be playable.
And when there are updates those updates should not create more and new bug/problems which every update until now has done.
