It's blue!

OK, so there are 60+ bodies in the system. OK, the furthest one is nearly 100,000ls away.

But one of those far away planets is blue with white clouds.

Initiating full system scan....

Terraformable water world. I've had worse outcomes from such a chase across a system.

Not a lot of terra for forming though...

(still going to complete the full system scan, now I've started just another dozen or so bodies to go)

If I travel really really far to a secondary star or third star, etc., I usually scan every planet in orbit once I'm there. I almost feel obligated to for some reason.

+1

I call it "The Griswold Syndrome". If I do find an Earth-like I call it Walley World.

Its sound in the system map would probably told you what this planet was. ;)

Good job... 200KLs is a long run. Long enough to read the Galnet. :p

Well, at least it was terraformable - and you got a nice little pic :)

Same... "I've already travelled 300K LS, what kind of explorer would I be if I didn't go the last 2K LS for a scan"...

And that, my friends, is how you end up staying up till 2 am on a weeknight :p

Listen to the world in the Sysmap. Make sure you have map music on or it wont sound.

Zoom in the planet in the Sysmap. Streamy, waves, sea, winds...that's a water world....streamy and birds chirping, that's and ELW...like a electric guitar, metal being cut thru a saw, thats a high metal planet.

Never again travel 400,000ls just to meet a high metal planet

Congrats though on that Water World Terraforming Candidate.

... most likely some kind of extreme metal that I'm listening to while I fly :)

I could learn the system map sounds, but I quite enjoy the anticipation of waiting for the scan. If I hit a run of systems with an ambiguous HMC/ELP/WW several hundred thousand ls away in all of them I might be tempted to learn, but while it stays rare I'd rather take the time to savour it.

Personally I don't go any further than 50k ls, I leave the 300k ls systems for the die hard explorers.:p
