It's highly obvious this game needs "balancing".

So first off we need ultra high security areas where nothing remotely dangerous will ever happen. Think of it as Elite: oooo thats a nice view or Elite: I'll just water these pot plants!

The trade off being it's going to take you a mind numbingly epic length of time to progress being here.

Then it needs to scale up in stages to the other end where it's more along the lines of Elite: where's my spare underpants. Elite: 20 minuters. But rewards of huge proportion. Where you can quickly get rich or die trying!

This i think would keep most happy. Something for everyone!

A player can fly from Galileo in Sol to Elrich city on Mercury, they will earn up to 700,000 credits one way shipping Superconductors in a large ship. That's about 5 minutes flying time, never leaving the system and flying along high security shipping lanes. There are literally thousands of those routes out there, many within the same planet, no need to even go to supercruise.

Putting all that aside, the devs should ramp up Anarchy space, make it a lot more dangerous, tone down random interdictions in high/med security unless someone has high value cargo in the ship (slaves/gold) Those that want to truck basic items are of no interest to pirates. Police response is spot on at the moment, they just need to tweak pirating.

Missions within safer zones should be to help keep the peace, plenty of backup from authority NPC's to take down NPC pirates, even assistance from authority ships to target pirate settlements within high security areas. Lower pay & rewards, much lower risk. Those looking for a challenge can operate in higher risk areas for better rewards.

So what you're saying is that traders just need to learn how to trade instead of flying their undefended sardine cans into war zones?

Stahhhp... Logic will get the mods after you. We're supposed to be at each others' throats so that people keep writing clickbait articles about ED on gaming websites.
