It's it just me or anyone get frustrated when you're having a dog fight and the blue throttle zone and enemy Hull status keeps disappearing out of view just when you need to see them
No, can't say that I do.
Then again, I don't really understand. Why does it move out of view? Are you using Track IR / headtracking? If so why can't you just look at it? I don't understand the issue.
The game simulate the changes in gravity when there are changes in direction or acceleration by zooming your field of view and most of the time it causes
You can move you virtual chair forward and back in the options (I did it a LONG time ago so can't remember exactly what it is called in the options). If you move it all the way back then this no longer happens.
Technically it's called G-forceThe game simulate the changes in gravity
Press left-shift (UI_FOCUS) that will zoom out your FOV a little bit. Just enough to see blue zone and enemy hull %. I have UI_FOCUS bound to a button on my HOTAS and have UI_FOCUS_MODE set to DIRECTION so I can use UI_FOCUS+top hat switch to select the four cockpit panels. Just pressing UI_FOCUS gives the zoom out effect.
No need to do this, there is a level of control in the settings. You can adjust it more by fiddling in the files but you don't have to do this. I'd look it up if the game would run...I remember seeing a YouTube video where they show how to change the angle of view by modifying some values in a file in the Elite Dangerous folder.
I have to find that video and try that.
As long as you can keep your nose on them, keep shooting them until they explode, you'll be fine.
This happens fairly often when maneuvering in combat, I wouldn't stress over it. Those rare seconds where you can't see those HUD elements isn't going to make or break you.
When I'm in the fight I don't care much about these things. My blue zone is always in the same place and my hand already knows where it is without me looking at it all the time. I don't care much about my enemy's exact hull status either because when it goes to zero he blows up and this is how I know that I can stop shooting at him. Lol. As for this feature in general, I believe you can disable it in your settings though. It's it just me or anyone get frustrated when you're having a dog fight and the blue throttle zone and enemy Hull status keeps disappearing out of view just when you need to see them
in addition, you can see when the target hits 0% hull - it will stop maneuvering and just drifts away aimlessly, no thrusters firing, its shield stops regenerating (the circle countdown disappears, should be visible even when you can't read the %) and you can hear/see small explosions all over it (careful with the anaconda, it has a few explosions before hitting 0% due to its damage model).A little heat won't kill you these days. There are even builds that encourage overheating for bonus damage.
That said you don't have to hold the trigger until the target dies, every time. You can let off a second if you're uncomfortable about getting hot. If you are able, listen to the audio cues when you're approaching critical temperatures.
Is there a way to turn this effect off? It's not just FOV, but relative head position that changes as well. I understand why it is there, but there are times I'd like to just "lock my head into place". If not in the game itself, perhaps a setting in the GraphicsConfiguration or some other file? The game simulate the changes in gravity when there are changes in direction or acceleration by zooming your field of view and most of the time it causes the blue throttle zone and enemy Hull status to go beyond your field of view.
I find it very annoying too.
