It's like FEDEX

FEDEX has millions of delivery jobs every day. Millions! But do they send out the trucks with only one package on board? No, they most certainly do not! They, wait for it...STACK as many delivery jobs as they can into a single truck, then the driver goes out to deliver them. Makes sense. Just like stacking delivery (smuggling) missions in Elite Dangerous.

That's all

Good job.

No wonder my parcels are always arriving damaged! FedEx are stacking missions and getting constantly interdicted every time they leave the depot! :D

They get shot up for a parking ticket.

To the OP: You are a bike COURIER. You know, the guys paid to move very small amounts of data or objects and get paid pretty well for it.

If they could wait for bulk shipment like FEDEX, they would.

When their 'space ships' pull on at my 'space station' they always have a lot of packages on board. I think they do therefore use the stacked mission approach.. clever little devils heh!

Is this some bizarre justification for logging between modes? Do what you want ingame, as long as it's not an exploit, no need for ridiculous analogies..

Fedex and other haulage companies wait for contracts to come through, they fill up their trucks/aircraft accordingly. They don't magically make freight appear out of thin air..

As much as Frontier likes to refer to the "realism" of the game... it isn't realistic at all. There is no life to this gamel. In this kind of future, why is there no communications when you enter a populated system? Where are the radio stations? Where are the communications from the ports and planets? Seriously, why is there no radio? Did they all become boring in the future? How are we supposed to be excited about trucking fireworks to some station if we cannot see the fireworks when they go off? Why can we not see NPC's unloading our cargo while we sit in the station? Where are all the women? Did it become normal in the future to not have any women pilot ships?

As far as stacking missions... it would be realistic to be able to stack as much as your cargo could hold without having to leave the station, or take a nap, or sleep... that's how I see logging out and logging back in anyway.

What good is regular comms when you have FTL ships? At
50 time the speed of light your transmission is either severely blue shifted or does not reach me at all.

Well it's no such much that stacking missions is an issue.

It's more that there's an endless supply of missions, I mean 1000 CMDRs stacking smuggling missions and they still keep coming!

Explain how E D players are using magic? Or is it sorcery? I can't tell anymore!

It's neither in ED, just a way of taking advantage of a simplistic system.

I'll be first in line to put my life savings into FedEx, GSS & UPS shares once they figure out how to switch between 'alternate reality's' to ensure their fleet always depart with an optimum payload in the shortest amount of time..

Do you get this worked up over the game mechanic that has dead pilots magically resurrected at the last station they visited, even if that station is 1000s of light years away, and in an exact replica of the ship they died in, even though said station probably doesn't have all the components or even a shipyard?

Though, can't you stack up on missions by letting the BB refresh naturally?

(not really running a lot of missions)

I don't think he is worked up, just pointing out how ridiculous your reasoning is. Do it or don't, few people really care and of those that do you are not going to convince with that reasoning.

hehe, get worked up? I have no issues with mode switching at all, only issue I have is with people trying to justify fast tracking.. Just do it buddy.. You know you are exploiting software, it is nothing like reality. Not sure what dead pilots have to do with anything? You started a topic comparing mode switching in a game to real life freighter outfits.

Maybe a "cool down" between instances would discourage this, along the same timeline involved in board repopulation.
Personally, I've swapped instances when CGing and the restock of rares has failed and on occasion when res hunting, so I'm guilty too. No need to justify it, let people play according to the mechanics of the game.

FDEVEX?

Yep, depends on the timing of the missions. Generally I get everything I need from one refresh, of course I could mode switch to cherry pick the best haulage missions... Just like FedEx.. errm yeah....

I'm very certain that mode switching was not a part of any comments I've made. Now stacking missions is a different beast...just wait long enough and the BB refreshes with new missions; no need to mode switch. Kinda like waiting for rares to respawn.

relogging to stack is not a thing worth worrying about. If anything, it is the players only way of correcting an injustice. That injustice being a game with thousands of occupied star systems.....yet you only have 4 - 20 choices of missions depending on your luck. There should be hundreds if not thousands to choose from always. Does not scale to the universe we are playing in. So, keep on stacking....I see no shame in that game.
