Think the point Op is making is that were told repeatedly that we cannot have this or do that because that's not how it works. That we lease this, oversee that, loan this, borrow that. And that we actually own not a damn thing.
Which just isn't true! Even by fdevs own admission the game states that each and every cmdr 'Blaze their own trail'. Can't do that if your blazing someone or something else's!.
And it's used as an excuse to deny some pretty cool potential content.

Way ic it yes. Well not just me but those of us who actually influence its expansion, combat, smuggling etc. If we didn't then I guess it would still function, but without direction. A meandering gormless pmf hehe

Nope. You can't.
Anyone can affect a pmf or npc faction. By various means. My pmf works hard to affect our interests, and we're assisted by cmdrs who are not in our squadron.
And im pretty sure there's other cmdrs who work against us whether it be for their faction or just because they choose too.

You people really need to learn to take no for an answer. You can play the semantics game all day long, but no, you are not going to "own" a system you designed the way you want to - unrestricted access to everything, your own suite in a station, restricting access and establishing permit locks, private cargo storage - ain't going to happen for now.

You can put your mark on the galaxy, you are credited as the system architect, and you can design the system, it's layout and the economy to your heart's content (within the given ruleset), but you're not going to get special treatment or ownership of anything.

And you need to learn to differentiate between advertising blurb and reality. Or do you also take it at face value that face cream makes you look like a model, or that breakfast cereals are healthy?

If you take marketing as absolute truth, than you are gullible and I may have a bridge I can sell you. When looking at the game and colonisation from a marketing prospective than everything as presented is true.

Where did I ask for unrestricted access to everything? Or for anything at all?

Why are you trying to put words in my mouth?

Also this is a video game. Not real life.

This is a platform literally not restricted by the bounds of Reality. They could turn all of the planets into Teapots by swapping out a single .FBX file, the only reason they don't is because people like you would complain a bit too much.

The narrative preference of 1 CMDR taking precedence over the rest of them who can go swing quite frankly....?

The 'push back' is that maybe everyone else playing this game, should be able to play this game and that maybe this game should make a modicum of sense, and the more sense the better. It doesn't need realism as defined by 21st Century social norms. Just consistency.

You dont own the Stars. Your CMDR doesn't own the Stars.
No-one is suing FDev because they haven't been handing out godmode to System X, Y or Z
