Its time for a Brake.

First of I want to thank all the fellow cmdrs I have crossed ways with somewhere in the univers, maybe in the war against Thargoids maybe just wondering around in the big black on some lonely exploration trip. No matter where or when it's been a pleasure. I will be seing some of you again out there at some point, but its gonna be a while.

I made the decision to take a long brake from the game, I have been around since 2016 so I think its fair enough.
This decision is made, due to some key changes in the game over the parst 3 years where I think fdevs forgot about all the players. first of Thargoids, well that one was for the bubble and in some way fair enough. But in all honesty fdevs have for years asked people to settle in colonia and other places in the big galaxy, but now after the latest big expansion (colinization) they again forgot about the people being out there. Not only did they forget us again, but we also had to deal with the roll backs when the new feature didnt go as planed, and thats the downside of putting an update like that on the live server its game breaking for those who can't participate. I personally lost 2 full days of biological samples and multiple scans, being set back 2k Ly of full on exploration is/where not really that fun.
So I took a brake while the servers and the fellow cmdrs could have fun with their yet again new feature, but I am a gamer, so I had to go find something els to play.

And thats where im at now, been finding myself playing No Mann sky ( I thought this was just gonna be a small experience while Elite settle back down) but its where I'll be in the near future atleast. Maybe ill return here someday soon and maybe not.
Atleast im staying away for now, but who knows it might change when I have the option to play the full game like everyone in the bubble.

Again thank you all for the fun experience out there, hell even thoese who have robbed me a few times its been a fun ride almost 10 years for me...

Stay safe out there cmdrs.

PS. I know the site here says I have joined this year. Dont know why changing your account mail resets your forum time :)

I feel you, lately I also started NMS and jumped in with much more effort since it released in 2016.

Just write me a PM here so we could join in NMS.

There is also a subforum here for it.

Very healthy.

I dropped the game completely around 2021 or 22 don't member anymore.
Every time I wanted to play or just check out what was going on, I instantly felt dead inside and just sat on the deck of the FC and got flashbacks to why I quit this game.
Spending not more then five minutes watching out the cockpit and quit again.

But hey here we are.
You'll be back :p
In the meantime enjoy other games!

Lol at people complaining about the Thargoid War, the most beautiful time I had in this game and that I was left orphan of it.

There is no a right or wrong way to play this game, anyone can decide to play the content or dislike it. What is wrong is assuming your tastes should be shared by everyone else.

This is not a train station, you do not need to broadcast your departure.

It is a gamer thing, I think. (even though I've been gaming since the mid 1970's (on mainframes, no less) I have never felt the need to announce that I'm not playing Colossal Caves any longer...)

But, just wish the OP happy future times playing NMS (or whatever) and welcome them back if they ever return.

Usually I file such departure announcements in the attention-seeker folder, but in this case the S/N ratio is pretty low on the Bazmeson scale. NMS is really cool, go for it!

I've left and come back a few times... What always brings me back is flying the ships, I love flying them.

For many, the trailblazers update is boring, mindless hauling. I thought it was going to be the same for me. The T-9 is a pain to land on planets, an absolute brick in super cruise and can barely fight it's way out of a paper bag. But after flying it for a while you kind of learn its limitations and, flown correctly, it's actually fun to fly. You get into a groove with it and it be becomes fun to get the most out of it.

I decided since I was enjoying the T-9, why not go for the cutter? I t took 2 nights to get it from Count and I can't say it was a grind as I was running courier missions in the Mandy to mostly outposts. I love landing at an outpost, swinging about the station with thrusters roaring and nailing a landing. Even using super cruise boost with stations 300ls away, the Mandy slows down so good it became a challenge to see how fast I could make a run.

I'm just enjoying the game. After I get the cutter I will have flown every ship in the game except for the Cobra V and a fleet carrier.

I find the updates get a lot of focus, while they are really just optional side activities. The basic game activities are still pretty much the same, just a lot easier. Meanwhile Thargoid War, Powerplay, Colonization... are all optional side activities.

In moderation these side activities are nice. But I gotta admit when I place all my focus on one it gets a bit much. I also admit when accepting a task, it is nice to complete the task. Whether it is completing a Thargoid activity, ranking up power play, or making a nice colony. Once a task is initiated it is nice to see it through. If the task requires heavy repetition it does wear me down. I have some contradictory thoughts here but that's how it is.

Good luck OP!
