my boss has a story, he was quitting a job at a company where he felt like he was pretty valuable to them. he was expressing his regret at leaving them to his boss, and was trying to report all the loose ends and customers he had been working on/with.
the guy told him "a company is like a glass of water, and them employees are a bunch of straws stuffed into the glass. straws can go in and out and the glass and water stay the same. even if all the straws are gone"
i always wondered if that was true, profound, or bull
