Its time for some love for the non-armored herbivores

So one thing which has irritated me for awhile is the non-armored herbivores reactions towards a predator coming at them.

For the armored herbivores they will fight the predator just like in reality. But the non-armored ones just sit there, not hearing the loud footsteps of a predator.

In Real life, non-armored herbivores counter predators via great vision, scent, hearing, and being quicker than their predators.

While in game, if a predator is hungry, a non-armored herbivore will just basically become blind and deaf (there is actually a part of the animation where it literally looks at the predator), making them a super easy target. While in reality, only 30% or less of most predator's hunts have the chance of being successful.

So its time to actually get to my suggestion, a new hunting system. Basically, when a predator is about to hunt, instead of it always being the fate of the herbi to be eaten, it will be random. There will be a chance where the predator gets the herbivore, or the herbivore actually notices it and runs off and the predator doesn't get the herbivore.

This will actually make Nigersaurus more special, since ive came up with something for it. Since it isnt fast or agile, I think that instead of trying to run when it notices the threat, it hits it with its tail, while yes I know Niger's tail isnt diplo or apato level but still getting hit by its tail will probably still hurt.

so here are my ideas for Nigersaurus to work into this system

Medium Preds: When the Nigersaurus notices the predator, it will run. But since its not fast, the predator will catch up only to be hit by the Nigersaur's tail once its within range, this knocks the medium predator off balance and does some damage (maybe taking away a quarter or less of health), and the Nigersaurus gets away as the predator struggles to get back up.

Large Preds: When the Nigersaurus notices the predator, it will run. But since its not fast, the predator will catch up only to be hit by the Nigersaur's tail once its within range, this stops the Large Predator for a moment before it attempts to get it again, in which it gets hit on the head/leg, causing the predator to give up the hunt.

I would not be suprised if this happens since Froniter have hard at work for this game, and my last request (which was Pachy and co getting attacks) got added in a month later.

Discuss my fellow hominids.

I have the same problem. I think it should be a coin flip with tails for life and heads for death. I also read somewhere that the kill chance should be one out of the number that the prey group is, meaning that a Parasaurolophus has a survival chance of 75-92% depending on how big its group is. Our friend Ansem also said that dinosaurs with low health should have a higher chance of being killed. The only carnivores with guaranteed hits should be the poisonous Troodon and Dilophosaurus (PLEASE let it be poisonous) and the camouflaged Indominus Rex.
