I've been getting the following error the past two days

This is what happens when there is no error handler for that exception type in that section of code, hence the "Unhandled Exception" message.
But you're right, it's completely useless for users, and not even very helpful for developers on its own, as it doesn't indicate where the problem occurred.

Yeah, pretty sure that's a launcher issue. Same sort off thing happened after a recent update, steam version of the launcher (not the non-steam) was calling the game using parameters that were no longer handled, or something.

For me, I had to run the launcher from steam.
And guess what? I just tested the launcher standalone just now and it worked.
