Last night a friend gave me the non-booting disk as returned by Apple following a repair/replacement to see if I could recover any of their data ... except it turned out not to be their disk, it's full of some stranger's data. Naughty Apple!
This kind of thing should give people pause IMO, about taking a computer in for repair with its disks still present, not that you have much choice with most retail PCs where you're trying to get warranty/after sales service.
