I've been having this Idea : Cameras in Stations

This is a good idea. Your very limited to what you can do when landed, you cannot even change target etc. Would be nice to scan the local area and traffic to see what is going on. I expect once we are allowed out of ships and walking around we'll get better views. Someone else mentioned being able to launch a camera drone with 1K range to take screenshots or collect data.

Put the thread in the suggestion section mate. Its better since this move much faster and will be buried fast.

Camera idea is neat, but i cant see the reason for it really. The only reason i could think of to have a camera would be to watch my ship, but that should be an option in the outfitter. To move the camera around and take screens for example. To access a stations cameras you would think you had to be a cop or working at the station as a maintain worker. It doesnt seem plausible for just anyone to access cameras is what i mean. :)

Also, some pirates like to hide on the side of the gate outside to follow victims. Anyone able to access cameras and look around would be warned and make it easier for them.

Chat function in stations with other docked ships is a great idea.

Yeah it would be nice to able to scan the ships in the area while docked. Or to be able to chat with other players who are docked or within the area.

I like the idea too. At times I feel so disconnected from other players and to be able to sit back and watch the comings and goings inside a station would be awesome. I think I'd leave it on when not playing, just as a screen saver.

This is really a good idea, Don't understand why FD just don't let us have a camera view to appreciate the ship that we spend hours to get, which is really frustrating and annoying! At least give us a free view at the docking bay or why would i bother to purchase the paints invisible in the game?

Even just the scanner would be really good to see what's going on and how many human players are about.

I was talking about the very same thing to my brother last night, I was going the route of a docking cam from within the station menu.
You get granted docking on a pad and from that moment onwards the station records your progress for you to view later, other CMDRs video recordings could be available at less honest stations for a few credits, showing a time and date stamp, wanted status and maybe any cargo scan available

I feel it would add some much needed life to the universe ?

Would love to see and access the cameras in a station - it would allow you to check if any large ship is wedged in the entrance and therefore preventing you from leaving and your time to exit expiring...

Needs a Tea Bar with a viewing room, so you can sit with a cuppa and a bacon sarni and watch chaos of noobs (and AI) docking :)
