I've been playing this game all wrong, since BETA!

Bought a Quest 2, arrived today, set it up very quickly and BOOM!

This game is seriously impressive in VR. I genuinely had no idea, the sheer size!

Flying any ship just blew my mind!

Then, landing in planet... now has meaning in my life.

Just wow.
Couldn't agree more! I got a Quest 2 just after Christmas and it completely changed how I play and think of the game. In particular, the feeling of being IN the cockpit is just a total game-changer.

I might try the headphones, although I have a pretty good speaker setup.

As for Odyssey, I have LEP, so will definitely be looking forward to that, albeit not in 3d... we'll see what the future brings.

Anyone have an opinion on what the best cockpit is? Keelback is awesome, Clipper is so big and clean (bit boring), Eagle feels like a Tornado cockpit.

The size of the ships though, the scale really got me - the Eagle is huge!

The T-10 cockpit is awesome...
Courier and Corvette 'makes sense' in VR
FDL & Mamba - run your eyes over all of the luxury stitching - on the Mamba play "Hunt the ZP Mug"
Kraits look lovely too, take in all that 'pontoon' detail and just how amazing those C2 harpoints really are...
Feel the 'coffin' in the Vulture

All great in VR in comparison to their flat screen selves 🥳

Oh my, I'm doomed with nausea when I wear a VR set - unfortunately this isn't for me. I would love the immersion, but ,,, well, you can guess what.

The nausea 'normally' disappears if exposure is stopped as soon as discomfort begins - sadly, for some, it doesn't.
I remember being quite disoriented playing Lone Echo at first - but it did fade over time and I was able to complete the game in around 6 months... Made a great grounding for charging about in the SRV in VR though (y)

Did VR a while. It's amazing but cumbersome and too much a commitment with the Oculus setup and all. Its a bit pixelated when in SC.

Tried VR - Oculus and HTC - and couldn't get on with either of them. They're cumbersome to wear, add unwanted complexity, provide poor resolution compared to my monitors, made certain aspects of the GUI difficult to handle (in particular the maps), make keyboard typing difficult, and don't, in my view, provide adequate compensation in terms of game experience. I got rid of both of them and now make do with a TrackIR.

I would highly recommend VoiceAttack with VR. Even with that it is a pain to be able to use 3rd party tools and it isn't perfect for sure. Exploration, most mission types, combat is where I typically go VR.

I have a Hp reverb g2. And coming from a rift S it's just drop dead gorgeous !@
Took me a while to setup correctly but I'm there now and truly it's awesome.
Had to build a cockpit and customise a pc but all done now.
Massive advantage in combat I don't care what anyone says vr gives you an edge.
Might try two sticks soon...this throttle malarkey mmm
