I've been thinking...

for some reason i always forget i am grinding for anything, usually because i focus on a daily goal i set myself
I feel the same really, But its a complaint I see come up about many times with gamers saying its to much grinding. I guess they dont connect with the whole task/reward or working for what you want in life. I saw getting x amount of credits for that next shinny ship a gave me a good feeling of accomplishment.

I like ice cream.... However, I could not eat a 5 gallon tub of it in one sitting. When I get full or ice cream or grow tired of it, I move on to something else.... Like peach cobbler. That's the ticket!

Elite is set up to where you can play your game style. Those who get bored either burnt themselves out, or not willing to try something new.... Just my 3 cents worth.

ED is a game that requires its players to REALLY want to play it; a polar opposite to say Astroid or Galaga where gameplay is intuitive. Approximately 70% of players will buy it knowing what it is they're getting into, a Han Solo simulator. The rest will blindly stumble into LHS 3447 and be thrown to the wolves of both the prepared player base and the rigors of the game. This will be known as the noob culling, where perhaps 10% of that 30% will persevere and join the ranks amongst us. The remaining lot will fail to realize the nature of the game they purchased and not make it 20 ly. Some of those might make the fatal mistake of opening up small pulse lasers into a veterans shields or into an AI near a station. Either way after a month of this the stream of incompetents will wither to a trickle, and the galaxy will settle into its natural order.

I'll be grinding quickly towards a class A multi cannon equipped Viper MkIII and bountyhunting the RES closest to start, waiting.

Well said .... have a Rep ....

OP ... there is help for THINKING .... but let's get back to playing ...

Cheers

You say that like it's currently an option. Some of us poor souls own a PS4 only, so all we can do is "think" between now and June 27th. Believe me, I'm ready to stop thinking and start doing. Tick tock, tick tock.

And I say it in jest aka humor (or an attempt at it) ... nothing more ... hopefully PS4 players won't have much longer to wait.

Cheers

First, thank god people in the PS4 forum have a spence of humour.

Second. Someone described the game this way once and it made perfect sense to me after that. ED is a playground. Today I'm gonna play on the swings, tomorrow I'm gonna play on the monkey bars and the day after that I'll kick a ball around on the grass with my mates etc. You need to do what feels fun at the time and go with the flow. Shake things up from time to time. The most important thing is to have fun.

But to answer the OP, yes just yes.

Good analogy! I like it :)

For any new commanders who may be concerned about their first flight just remember; there will be Training Missions available that allow you to practice your skills without the worry of damaging your shiny new ship :)

Will the training missions be available before the 27th launch? Could use the practice :)

Not ninja'd, I did this on purpose ;)
